Excellent! August 9, 1999 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Our entire family enjoys this video. My two year old son (with a moderate hearing impairment) watches, as do his parents who are trying to learn sign language. This is the best sign video I have found. Isolated signs are shown clearly before each story, and signs are seen in the context of simple sentences that tell the story.
Very Enjoyable Learning! September 9, 2002 Jeffrey Morris (Nelsonville, OH USA) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
My twin daughters..., borrowed this video several times from our public library. I enjoyed it just as much as them & found myself watching it each time as we picked up new signs to practice and learn. Now, my ...year old has fallen in love with it too! She watches it sometimes 3x in a row and several times throughout the day ... as it IS her favorite video to watch. We decided to purchase our own so we wouldn't be hogging the Library's copy. I only wish there were more! I was sad to find out that there wasn't a whole series of these available! We are a Hearing family but enjoy exposing our children as well as ourselves to everything possible and in turn have learned much. There's many new adventures to experience! A Parent Who enjoys Learning as well as Teaching, HMorris
One of the best ways to get started in Sign Language! January 13, 2002 Isabel Caballer (San Juan, PR) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
We got this tape as a Christmas gift for our 3 year old boy, who is not hearing impaired but we are trying to introduce him to sign language with several books and tapes. It was a very pleasant surprise for us when we watched the tape; we were fearing it would turn out to be a little bit boring for him, but it was not only fun, he wanted to watch it several times and even learned a few signs the first day. It was also great for us, I found it very interesting and my husband and I ended up signing along with the stories. Linda Bove is great, the stories are loved by children and adults, the acting and the signing are simple, entertaining and easy enough for everybody. It is very easy to identify words such as "cold", "hot", "forest", "tall", "low", "girl", "wolf", "father", "mother", "baby", "bear" and many more. I would definitely recommend this tape to everyone interested in learning sign language or teaching their children.

My Son is 2 years old and profoundly deaf. We both highly recomend this video. Actually all three of my children do, I also have two hearing daughters, one 11 and one 5. My son's school has this video and they show it sometimes during his snack time. All of the children loved it, they sat still and were excited to see signing on the tv. My other two children could follow along easly because of the voice overs and learn new sign without really trying so hard. We plan on purchasing this for home.
An fun way to introduce ASL to verbal & non verbal children January 15, 1999 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Both my 8 year old daughter who hears but is non verbal and my "typical", active, hearing 2 year old LOVE THIS VIDEO!! It's a half hour of peace while they both practice such signs as "hot", "cold", "sleep", "eat", "Mama/Mother", "Papa/Father", "Grandmother" and other key words in daily living. A great video for all!
