Amazon.com Advanced Tae-Bo enthusiasts will enjoy this set of two 60-minute workouts, both nonstop and intense. There are drills of one move at a fast pace over and over, with up to 40 repetitions. Occasionally, you slow down for half a minute to learn a combination, but then it's back to the fast repetitions. The combinations are never complex, but they're always intense, and Blanks gives technique tips so you can focus on doing the moves for maximum effectiveness and safety. Both workouts are tough and relentless, working the whole body, burning calories, building muscle endurance, and conditioning your heart and lungs. If you do advanced Tae-Bo regularly, this set will give you two new workouts at the high intensity you prefer. --Joan Price

The Best of Tae Bo September 30, 2001 108 out of 110 found this review helpful
These have to be the best Tae Bo videos yet. I am an aerobics instructor who teaches Kickboxing and I find these tapes to be quite challenging. They have also held my attention longer than some of the other Tae Bo tapes--I tend to get bored very quickly with exercise videos. I have been doing them faithfully for about a week now (I have cut back my teaching schedule because of conflicts with home schedule) and I will tell you--I see a difference in my abs and hips already. Especially the abs!! The Advanced tapes are definitely too much for a beginner--so if you are new to Tae Bo--do the Basic Tae Bo II tapes first. I have been combining this with the focus Abs & Glutes (which is very challenging also but VERY fast paced) and really like the results that I have gotten in such a short time. I highly recommend these tapes to Tae Bo lovers and advanced exercisers.
Unbelievable! October 17, 2001 Emma Wallace (Australia) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Whoa who turned up the Tae Bo! This two pack of videos are fantastic, you'll be sweating up a storm. They are fast paced compared to the Original 4 pack advanced tape. There is also no resting in these workouts. Compared to the Original 4 pack Tae Bo, there is not much floor work and mostly the workout focuses on cardio. However you will be working those ab's, standing up! The tapes are also different, which is important when wanting to add diversity to your workout. I prefer these tapes to any of the older versions of Tae Bo, I'd recommend both these tapes and the Basic Tae Bo II set as well. Billy is on fire!
Tremendous workout September 24, 2003 Bucky (KCMO, United States) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
The Tae Bo II Get Ripped tapes are not for beginners. These are far and away the two hardest, most varied workouts I have ever done in my life. The first one in particular is almost unbelievable the first few times you do it, but the feeling of accomplishment once you master these puppies is well worth the pain. An hour of Tae Bo is SO much more effective than an hour of running, spinning or cycling. Your abs and glutes will get worked in ways you never realized were possible. Two things to remember, though: 1. Tae Bo will not make you look "ripped" unless you are combining the program with weight training, which will give you muscles to ripple. Nothing is a complete exercise program without upper-body resistance work. 2. Don't do these things more than three times a week, and take a couple of days off to rest! Billy advises people about this in his book, and it's really worth repeating. This is too intense a workout to do on a daily basis. You'll end up hurting yourself by not giving your legs, abs and rear enough time to rest and regenerate. Just like with working your arms with weights, you CAN'T work your abs every single day. And believe me: Tae Bo II is the most intense ab work you're likely to find. I put it on par with the best Pilates instruction, as long as you do it correctly.
Best Taebo advanced tape! October 25, 2002 Elizebeth Neumann (Seattle, wa) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought the original Taebo tapes and used them for about 2 years off and on. The advanced tape had been my favorite because it was an hour long, but I had wished it had more cardio and was more intense. When I saw the "Get ripped" series of tapes I bought the advanced set and popped them in, was I in for a ride! These tapes are tough! Dont underestimate the power of Taebo! Even if you have been doing the original advanced tape these WILL make you sweat! I was practically in tears by the end the first time I did these tapes. They keep you constantly moving for an hour and push you to the limit. The second tape has about 8 minutes of floor work similar to that in the original advanced tape. Ive had these tapes for 9 months and do them about twice a week and they still provide an excellent workout. However the tears in my eyes are gone now! The only problem I have with these tapes are with the speed of some of the excersizes. Some of the segments with side kicks just goes way to quickly to get good form. I like that this tape is more intense and fast paced, but I have a hard time feeling that Im really getting the movements down. I have scoliosis and when I had been doing these tapes 4 times a week it really aggravated my back. Now I either do the segments that I know bother me slower or some days I just fast forward the 3 minutes. Other than that these are awesome tapes and you will not get bored with them in your collection.
Great workout...but the tapes seem very similar... May 18, 2002 11 out of 14 found this review helpful
I did the first workout tape 1 and enjoyed the tape immensely, and I began looking forward to using the 2nd tape the following day. When I popped the tape in, I began working out, but the moves and steps seemed very familiar. So I thought, I must've grabbed the wrong one, but Billy Blank's was wearing a different outfit. So I went along with it, and there was some variation but mostly the same moves--albeit no floorwork to speak of in the Workout 2. I was kinda disappointed that they were SO similar. Don't get me wrong--the workout it great. I purchased the tape because so many people really spoke highly about it, but I didn't find the workout as "hard" as others as touted. It was tough, but what Billy Blank's advanced workout isn't? The tapes, on the other hand, were FUN FUN FUN! I truly enjoyed every minute of the workout as it seemed to go faster than the "Live" Videos. I will repeat to beginner/intermediate users, this tape is definitely advanced. The balance segments are particularly difficult if you've never done Tae Bo before, or are just starting to workout. All in all a great workout--I plan on separating the tapes though and using them 4-5 days apart from one another so I don 't feel like I just DID the workout.
