Best MX Game Available December 13, 2001 Timothy E. Smith (VA) 13 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have played every MotoX game from Motocross Madness to Jeremy McGrath and this is by FAR the best of them out there. Let me first say that Jeremy McGrath is the worst, should have been a straight trip from the manufacturing line to the garbage can. That said, Ricky Carmichael is certainly the best. From clutch fanning to take the holeshot, to suspension compression for bigger jumps, to powersliding the perfect line through the turns, this game has it all. The computer puts up a great fight, sometimes even landing on you and running you over, so you know you're not going to beat this one and move on due to boredom. Wheelies, stoppies, Nac Nac's, Superman's, it's all here. Great graphics, great tracks and freestyle arenas, great bikes (KTM, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc..) fast gameplay, big hills, huge jumps, I can go on and on and on!!!!I have been burned one too many times by buying games before playing them or renting, well, I rented this game and it's a keeper!! It will be on my Christmas list for sure!
Nothing revolutionary for an MX game May 23, 2002 Douglas Welzel (Seattle, WA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
MX 2002 is definitely a fun game, but it isn't a particuarly ground breaking title. The game centers around a career mode. You start at an Amateur in the 125cc class and work your way up to the 125cc Pros and then the 250cc Pros. Along the way you can take part in freestyle competitions and tutorials to hone your skills. The tracks are varied and can be quite long, which makes for fun racing. However, the game as a whole is quite short. I was able to complete the game within 3 days and it doesn't offer much in the way of replayability because there are so few team/bike choices. Also, features such as qualifying races (and last chance qualifiers) are completely absent. Overall I found Supercross 2000 for the N64 much more enjoyable. In particular it had running commentary during the races and multiple camera views. MX 2002 has neither of these. I recommend renting it for a couple days of entertainment.
This Game Is The Best December 8, 2001 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Ive seen the previews of MX 2002 and it looks like a GREAT game. A lot of people told me that the game is Great. Ive played it and the game is awsome. I has great gameplay and awsome graphics. If you get this game you wont regret this. It is worth the money$. I think it is one of the best games have ever played. You should get this game! Ive played all the other MX games for all the different systems and MX 2002 is by far the best out of all the dirtbike games I have played. There are great tracks and a great selection of bikes. The game has 30 of the pros and you do all of fun and great stuff in this game. I cant stop playing the game you could go on and on and never stop the game is great and I love it!
Incredibly Fun Game January 10, 2002 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have wasted so many hours on this game! I've got 6 other XBOX games that haven't been played in 2 weeks, if that gives you any idea. The graphics are great (I've almost wet myself a couple of times...), gameplay is challenging. All in all an awesome game, but there is some questionable AI that goes on... 1. Count how many times other racers will come down on top of you and knock you off your bike upon landing a jump and you'll understand my frustration. 2. Don't spend too much time in the grassy areas or the game will penalize you and throw you off the bike.
