This is the protection your PSP needs. May 9, 2005 S. Alix (NYC) 193 out of 197 found this review helpful
This is the best case out there for the PSP. 1)It's protected both on the inside and the outside. The package says that the case is indestructable. The inside contains rubber that will take the impact of any drop leaving your PSP safe and scratch free. 2)The cover is customizable. So you can personalize this case with any picture of your choosing. 3)You can play while it's in the case, so there is no tedious taking in and out of your PSP. 4)It can charge in the case as well. 5)Over all it's worth the price and it beats every other case out there on the market.

This is a very cleanly designed and sturdy system case for the Sony PSP handheld. The clear polycarbonate shell fits the general shape of the PSP with access holes for power, headphone/remote jack, wi-fi, and on/hold switches. The inside of the PlayGear is lined with a rigid, rubber-like compartment that provides a snug fit for the unit itself. You can play your PSP without having to remove it from the case, which is neat, and it feels pretty good in doing so. The hinged top can be folded up to act as a glare screen or almost all the way back to allow you to "stand" the case on a flat surface for viewing UMDs as well. Initially, I had some difficulty getting the case opened and closed. The latch button is of the pressure-sensitive style, and is molded in as part of the case. I suspect I just need to "break it in", so to speak, but it is worth noting. Also, despite being designed to protect the unit while it is being used, it lacks a belt clip or other attachment that would make it easier to carry and thus even more portable. Overall, though, I'm pretty happy with this product. The case is really intended to protect the PSP while you are using it, and in this respect, it does the job well. Those folks looking for a good travel case to store your PSP and accessories while going on a trip might be better served by the Pelican Road Pak kit, or other type of carry bag. Here's the quick rundown: Pros: Clean lines/attractive styling Lightweight Sturdy Access holes for charging, controlling the unit, or listening to MP3s while closed Case doubles as a glare screen or viewing stand Cons: Latch is a little difficult to open No additional compartments for extra storage No belt clip or carry strap attachments Still need a separate transparent overlay or monifilm guard for screen protection
not really for the psp2k October 14, 2007 G. K. Hunter (vashon island, wa) 22 out of 23 found this review helpful
i just bought a piano black psp2k (mostly for movies while travelling) and thought this case would offer good protection while in my bag, which it does. the reason that i gave it 2 stars is that one of the best features for my intended purpose was the 270 degree hinge to make a stand while watching movies. unfortunately the psp2k headphone jack is in a place that's covered (just barely) so there's no way to use this a stand and have your headphones plugged in. the wireless on/off is also covered so that's useless as well. i think it should be noted in the product description that this item doesn't work well (other than protection) for the psp2k. unfortunate.
At Last! A Case That Makes Sense! July 2, 2005 Christopher S. Kirby (Macon, GA USA) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
There is probably nothing more annoying to me than having to plunk down a chunk of change for a case for an already expensive portable gaming system. I mean, why not just make the system with the proper protection straight out of the box, right? The PSP is awfully cool to play and to just look at, but it's prone to any myriad of scratches or scuffs - not the sort of thing you want to see happen to your new, pretty little piece of tech. The "case" (if you want to call it that) that comes with the PSP "Value Pack" is nothing more than a padded slipcover - not very practical in any sense of the word. I've also tried the Intec metal hard case. It does its job, certainly, but it's basically only good for transporting the PSP. It offers no protection while playing, which is exactly why Logitech's new case is vastly superior to anything I've come across. Sleek and cool, the Logitech Playgear Pocket matches in style and substance the stylish form factor of the PSP. Just slip your PSP into the clear polycarbonate case and you're done. The clamshell case closes to fully protect the system, while allowing full access to powerports and more. The interior of the case features rubberized padding, so it seems more than plausible that it can protect the PSP from substantial falls onto hard surfaces like concrete. But the coolest thing about the Playgear Pocket is that once you place your PSP inside it, you never need to remove it. The Playgear allows access to the shoulder buttons on the PSP even from within its protective casing. The flip top also serves as a handy sun shield if you're playing outside, and it flips all the way back to create a stand if you want to watch a movie on the PSP without holding the system the entire time (I suppose this could be handy on a long flight, but it's at best a marginal benefit - especially considering the short battery life of the PSP). The one gripe I have about the Playgear (and the reason this review gives it four stars rather than five) is that it provides no space for carrying games or other accessories (such as the large, unweildy power cord). But the Playgear is designed for maximum protection, not maximum storage space, so I can certainly live with the limitation. Now - if only Logitech could make something similar for the Nintendo DS................... :)
Not for PSP Slim & Light (PSP-2000) December 4, 2007 Hyun Yu 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
The ordering process and delivery was as smooth as possible (thanks, Amazon.com), but this product is not designed for the new PSP Slim & Light (PSP-2000), which is what I have. I wish the product description made that clear. The new PSP sits loose in the case, and the earphone socket is covered by the case while the unit is inside the case. Luckily, Amazon.com took it back, no hassle, and even paid for the return shipping. Can't beat the service. I had to rate it in order to leave this review, so I'm giving it four stars. It looks like a superbly made and sturdy product, and enough people seem to be happy with it.
