Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Intec's Safe Screens provide your DS Lite with a protective transparent film for both screens. These films cling to the screen and can be removed by just peeling them off, no messy glues to worry about. Safe Screens are thin enough to maintain the sensitivity of the DS stylus, yet strong enough to prevent unwanted scratches on your screen.

1 out of 5 stars DS Lite Safe Sceen   March 7, 2007

As soon as I got this in the mail, I was excited to put it on my ds because of all the good reviews. I put the top screen on properly and it was alright, however a few bubbles wouldn't come out. That was alright with me, but when I go to put on the bottom (most important screen) the directions were rather confusing and apparently i put it on backwards and when i went to turn it over after only a few seconds, it already had dust on it and was impossible to get off. So i had to throw it in the garbage and I don't even plan on bothering with any other ds screen again. Just keep the screens clean (I use eyeglass cleaner and cloth) and it will stay nice.

I am not saying that, if done exactly right, these screens aren't worth the 5 dollars, but i found the directions confusing because i couldn't locate what they called the "squeegee" that is supposedly there the help put on the screens.

My advice is: no screen is going to go on perfectly, so just keep yours clean and it will look better than putting any cheap screen cover on it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Screen Protector   January 18, 2007

This is a great screen protector. The package contains a protector for the top screen and the touch screen. It doesn't use adhesive but I have had no problem keeping it on. It was easy to apply with minimum bubbles. They are only around the outside where I couldn't get the adhesive off from my last protector. I have had this on for a week and it hasn't scratched at all unlike my last one. It hasn't affected the sensitivity either. I wish I had used this one first.

3 out of 5 stars DS Screen Protector Mandatory!   September 14, 2007

A screen protector actually can make the difference between a ruined DS and one that lasts for years. It all depends on the games that you play. If you play games like Harvest Moon DS and Lost in Blue2, the Touchscreen will be attacked by the stylus in an aggressive fashion. If you lack a screen protector, your screen can be ruined by diligent gameplay! I wish I had bought one at the very start... I never will use the DS without a screen protector again when playing games that actually use the incredible potential of the Touchscreen.

Of course, if you are playing games that simply require an occasional tap of the stylus on the Touchscreen, you may not need a protector... The games that use the Touchscreen creatively require the protector.

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy this screen protector!   April 8, 2007

I decided to buy this screen protector based on the decent review, 3.5 stars isn't bad. I was excited upon receiving my Intec DS lite screen protector until I actually tried installing the things. I must say, these protectors are a pain in the butt. Bubbles are highly unavoidable with this product. Eventhough there was a squeegee to help remove the bubbles, there was no way to remove all the bubbles no matter how many times I tired. There are two sticker tabs to separate the adhesive side from the backing. The stickers did not come off easily. I managed to remove them after a while but not before leaving sticky adhesive residue and a few scratches on the screen protector. The screen protectors themselves are a little thinner then the ones I have seen. As soon as I started playing my first game, there were notably scratches on the screen protector. There is a decrease in sensitivity when using the stylus on the touch screen. Finally, the instructions were vague. There were only 3 steps, but no diagrams to show what to actually do or say what is in included is used for. I hope my next screen protectors are better than these ones.

4 out of 5 stars Must buy!   August 16, 2007

The only issue I have with these screens is that there are no instructions. I guess the manufacturers assumed people would use common sense when putting them on, but that's always a bad assumption to make. Had I not read other reviews, I likely would have screwed things up too.

These things don't just "cling", there is an adhesive on the back. When you apply the protectors, make absolutely sure that your screen is clean and that there isn't a lot of dust flying around the room. Start from one edge and slowly lower the protector down, using the small card to press out air bubbles if you need to. I don't know what happens when you try to reposition the protectors, because I was fortunate enough to get it right the first time. Just go slow, be patient, and everything will be fine. 6 months and I have yet to experience any problems.

Also, I didn't put the top protector on. If you're careful with your things then you shouldn't need it.
