Disappointing. September 27, 2007 Brianne Dahlin (Shawnee, KS) 56 out of 73 found this review helpful
I wish I had time to do a thorough review for this game, but unfortunately, my time and my frustration does not allow. Like many other people, I was completely excited about this game. A cross between Animal Crossing and The Sims? How could I not be!? The truth though, is that this game is victim to false advertising. All the cool things you heard about or saw in commercials, is only in the Wii version of the game. The DS version of the game is nothing more than a glorified mini game game. And the mini games aren't even very fun. You will continue to search around your town to find something to do or a reason for your character to go out and interact with the nameless random people in the town, but there just isn't any reason to. This game is lacking on all levels, and I am disappointed in EA for not at least sprucing this up to the same interaction level that Animal Crossing has

Alrighty! First off, I have been wanting this game for MONTHS! (btw, I am using my dad's user name). I got it a few days ago. So far it's quite entertaining, I play it for like 2 hours each time I pick it up! Oh, and this is from a 13 yr old GIRLS perspective. let's make this simple: PROS: +The mini games are pretty fun +The graphics are HAPPY and CUTE and not to mention really good +The music is wonderful and so are the sound effects +Still has that same ol' Sims feel, you gave to make tourists "HAPPY" +Seems like there's always something to do, like waiting for new supplies in a store or whatever +You can change your hair with out paying for it (un-like ACWW) +WAY MORE TO EXPLORE than in ACWW, like different areas such as the "forest" "port" and "town" ect. and there's a trolley system that runs through it all. CONS: -The beginning kind of...well...sucks a little. It's boring, but after a while it's great -days go by really quickly, unlike Animal Crossing where it goes by your actual clock (this is good in ways too...) -I don't think there are seasons, which makes me MAD, but who knows..and no picking random flowers, but you can plant some. -Re-arranging s room is weird, but a lot better than Animal Crossing, you can actually put stuff AGIANST the wall. -You can't visit other people's towns......I don't think. OTHERS: *You can dig for fosils like on ACWW, but you just click on an area that is sparkling *No upgrading houses, but you have to buy this one house...I don't want to give it away. :) *THERE'S A CASINO, which I haven't done much in. *there' disco...it's stupid, you pay 500 coins or whatever and all you do is dance and talk to tourists. *You can take pictures *No more people moving or out...there's NO NEIGHBORS, it's a tourist town. *There's an airport, which I haven't gotten to yet...I have to be on star level 5 I think. So that's it for now. I RECCOMEND THIS TO EVERYONE, but I wouldn't buy it if you already have Animal Crossing because they are basically the same....Kind of. :) JUST BUY IT cause it's worth the $$$.
My 9 year old loves this game October 3, 2007 C. Sanders 27 out of 32 found this review helpful
If you're considering this for your kid. Go for it. It will keep him/her busy for hours on end. You'll have to drage him back to the real world. My 15 year old is a Sims fanatic & couldn't help but give it a try (after the little one fell asleep late Saturday night). The teenager reported that it is a fantastic game, but probably best suited for the 12 & under crowd. She compared it to Animal Crossing & Harvest Moon - two games that she loved as a "kid"!
Mysims DS rocks!!!!! September 19, 2007 nicole wolske (Boston) 25 out of 35 found this review helpful
I just got this game today at GameStop and it is wicked awsome. I LOVE it. As you all know this game has had more hype for the Wii version but the DS version is just as fun. The only thing is you can't build houses in the DS version but thats not a problem because there is so much fun stuff to do. I HIGHLY and DEFINATLY recomend this game. When I get a Wii I will DEFINATLY get the Wii version of this game it's so much fun. I like it better than the regular sims.
Boring! November 11, 2007 Scott (Florida) 19 out of 28 found this review helpful
The DS version is absolutely awful. I bought both the DS version and the WII as it looked interesting. The promos are for the WII version. I actually bought a WII just to play the WII version of this game. I'm completely sastified with the WII version, but the DS needs to be avoided.
