5 out of 5 stars A picky mom's review   October 11, 2007

I cannot say how much I appreciate these games Virtual Villagers is a fantastic gaming series. My children all love to play. We all sit around our computer talking about what we need to do to advance our village. We also giggle about the different things we can do to the villagers. Great idea with no violence I appreciate that so much. I especially like the levels of play #1 is a bit easier though my children did figure out the golden child where it was taking me ages to figure that out. The lost children is a bit more difficult you have to think and work at keeping them alive, and I do love the feature of being able to use tech points to buy different clothes for the villagers instead of them just adding up into infinity.

A sequel to "Virtual Villagers I" this game, Virtual Villagers 2, is the same entertainment value and the same frustrations as the original. Problems that seem unsolvable (such as the sea turning to sludge) are resolved by those who have gone ahead of you or by your own luck and intelligence. This game is a true challenge using common sense, a wee bit of arcade game play and intelligence as well to keep all alive and healthy. Be prepared for more challenges then the original.

Hi everyone, I wanted to post my rating of this game as a mom. This one kind of bothered me a bit, as I am christian and it seemed to me like it was promoting multiple partners for the parents of the children. The game play was slow, and it seemed like whoever wrote the game was pretty sadistic in their disasters. The villiage quickly ran out of food sources as one by one every source on the game had something happen to it. The coconuts ran out, the water turned to algae, the crops were instantly eaten by birds, and the stews did not feed the villiage on the easy setting. A child playing this would not only not be having fun, but the micromanagement would probably drive them nuts. The music was good, but that is probably the only good thing I found on this game that way. I hate to say it, but I would not recommend this game to anyone who was trying to have a fun relaxing game to play. This is definately not relaxing. I hope this helps, best of blessings,
Maraleh

3 out of 5 stars Great to play but nothing to do after solving it!   February 28, 2008

I really enjoyed both Virtual Villagers games - the puzzles are challenging (tho not always logical) and it's just plain fun to cultivate your own village. Five stars for fun play. Unfortunately, once you solve it, you're done. It can be solved in a few days, then you can try different difficulties, but it's not as much fun once you know how to solve all the puzzles. It isn't a game with a play over and over quality.

I am so pleased with this game...the only problem is that it is ADDICTIVE!! Lots of clean fun, no violence...just witty puzzles to keep your undivided interest. A great game. I can't wait for another to come out and I am not even through this one yet!! LOL
