Not bad June 8, 2007 D. Gomez 66 out of 68 found this review helpful
Overall I would have to say that this is one of the better stuff packs content wise. H&M Fashion will add a significant number of new outfits to your sim's wardrobe, gives you three new premade community lots (h&m stores) and a handful of new objects. In my opinion the outfits alone are worth the pricetag. The latest expansion packs have been sadly lacking in this area (though seasons did add the whole "outdoor" thing) and it was nice seeing some new options. Though the men's clothing looks much better than the women's. There's also three new swimsuits for the guys. One thing that I thought to be kind of wierd was that the new swimsuit "outfits" are designed with flops on the feet. While this looks cool when they're just standing around the tiki bar, it is kind of odd seeing them jump into the pool or hot tub with sandals on. The rest of the stuff pack complements Open for Business nicely if you own it. It will give you some new objects to spice up the look of any clothing store you might own (such as mannequins, clothing racks and shelves, counters, etc...) plus a more modern looking cash register that could be used in any retail situation. It also gives you the building tools to create a "runway" as it were. While this sounds nice and it looks "hip", it's kind of pointless. There's no "walk down the runway" or "start a fashion show" interaction. So you could just tell your sim to walk back and forth...? Anyways, to sum up, this stuff pack is not a bad investment if you find the clothing options to be getting a little stale. And, unlike Celebration, which only applied specific events, 90% of the content in h&m could be applied to mainstream use.
Nice Clothing.... For Female Sims... July 20, 2007 LadyNaava (Sunny California) 21 out of 22 found this review helpful
There is a gender bias in the sims world. Its so easy to find hot clothing for your sims 2 females.... But for the males? Not so much. I liked the idea of a major fashion store producing a pack. I can't wait for an "old navy" or "hot topic" version... But I was slightly disappointed in the men's line of clothing. Very plain. The women's clothing was hot... But I thought the men's clothes were kind of dorky and plain-looking. Overall, a decent pack... But what's the point of the runway when you can't use it for anything? Hmmm... 3 stars.
Sims H&M = Pure Genius June 24, 2007 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
* I'm not usually into Sims Stuff Packs...(It was so good that it made me think about getting some of the other Stuff Packs) but this is the best one so far. This pack is based on the real-life store, mostly around the North-East part of the US, but anyway, this is the only pack I use for my Sims outfits, unless I want to make my Sims ugly...which I don't.
* I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I heard they used outfits from the actual store in the Sims game. This pack has stylish, updated outfits that would look good on any man or woman today. Plus, they have outfits for teenagers, boy and girl, and they have three new outfits for children (girls).
* I also like the fact that you can create your own H&M store, but, they already give you three already-made H&M stores.
* I highly recommend this Stuff Pack!
H&M Fashion Stuff Many A New Clothes Not Much Else July 21, 2007 Leah Emery (Allentown, NJ USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
H&M Fashion Stuff has a lot of new clothing items, but they are from the H&M Style racks for sure. They are not much more than grunge style for prepies I found. That may be a little harsh but if your looking for a lot of different new styles I suggest downloading Custom Content for your own tastes. I myself really like the fashions they provide and have given the game a five star rating. Not everything is to my taste, but many more altfits are wearable by the sims than with what came with some other expansion packs (aka: Open for Business.) This Stuff pack is to promote the H&M chain. It is a real life store. Besides clothes there isn't much else to it. Some fancy lighting, and items that are store props, a few H&M signs, store decorating objects, & some sim model pictures, which are not all in the same place in the items catologues of the game. So they are a little harder to find if you want to use them all at the same time. There are no Male shirts, none. Yes there are full body outfits and pants, but no tops. Seriously, I find that unsatisfying and somewhat disturbing when there are so many new pants that don't work with the regular shirts. There are many types of womens clothing! Of all types. Over all there are lots and lots of clothes, very cool to experience when buying for your sim now. The fashion show and modeling runways are kinda hyped up as well. There are no new actions, you have to put your sims on free-will OFF and completely control them if you want it to work as a true modeling show. Pluss the audience has to be invited to sit, just like when having a wedding. No new action's for that either. So as you see in some/many ways I found this Stuff Pack dissapointing. But after all it is only a Stuff Pack, so it is understandable that there isn't any huge reprograming with its instalment. It is very satisfying if all your looking for is some new clothes and good looking sims. Your sims have a lot more clothes too choose from when shopping now. Shopping can be an actual event! So go for it if you're in the mood for something new for the game, this Stuff Pack will bring it. Enjoy, and happy simming.
Beautiful 'Stuff' February 4, 2008 Brittany Rose (Winnipeg, MB) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I think this particular Stuff pack was the least well received by the Sims community, and in some ways, they have a point. The idea behind the packs is to add strictly content items to your Sims game, ones that may not fit in with an expansion theme, or ones that will just add to the general collection of items you have, without having to download custom content over the internet. This particular pack is very very focused on one single thing - fashion, specifically for your adult sims (teens and young adults get appropriately sized copies of the adult fashions). There aren't really any other additions to the game other than a HUGE schwack of clothes and H&M branded items that you can use to make your own H&M stores or shopping malls. The good news is, the clothes are definitely lovely - the quality and detail on them outdo everything Maxis or custom content creators have done (that I can see), and each outfit comes in at least a few different colours/styles. I'd agree with other reviewers on the site that there is a gender bias towards the women, as well as the young folks (not that H&M is targeted towards seniors but really...). The bad news is, that's all she wrote...if you aren't interested in dressing your Sims, or if you're not a big fan of branded content, this game probably isn't for you. Having recently cleanly (i.e. limited to no internet custom content) reinstalled my game, I'm grateful to have so many fashion choices at my fingertips, but if you don't care, then don't buy it!
