Great joystick for flight sims July 29, 2005 Brooke P. Anderson (USA) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I've been using CH Products joysticks for about 15 years now and think they are great. I use the product (Flightstick USB Pro) primarily for multiplayer on-line air combat in Aces High, have used it in the past for lots of Air Warrior, and use it for a bit of WWII Online. I like the feel of this flightstick very much (the perfect amount of spring load for me), and CH Products makes quality products that seem sturdy and that last.
Works great; Maybe Too Simple. November 9, 2006 Alan Murphy 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
Plugged it in and it worked right away on an OS X Mac running X Plane. No other software needed. Good, solid feel; doesn't "walk" around on the desk. No complaints, other than I wish I had gotten a model with more buttons.
best joystick, period. March 19, 2007 Nathanael Wilde 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
CH FlightSticks have always been the best game sticks, and now that Vista is dropping joystick port support, this USB version is king. Wide range of motion, precise, no drivers, impecable quality,... It's worth the price.
King of the Basic Joysticks April 27, 2008 Wing Fat 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I enjoy instrument flying in MS Flight Simulator, so precision is the most important factor for me in a controller. I've tried several joysticks over the years but no other joystick can match the precision and feel of the Flightsick Pro. One reason I like the Flightstick Pro is that it's one of the only high-end joysticks that you can use with either hand. The latest flight sims let you pan around the "virtual cockpit" with the mouse, so I prefer to fly with the joystick in my left hand and my mouse in the right. You fly most real-world aircraft with your left hand anyway, another reason I prefer this configuration. Most of the fancier joysticks (including CH Products F-16-styled options) are built for right-hand use only. The Flightstick Pro works right out of the box, with no need to load drivers or other software--just plug it in and off you go. The base is solid and heavy enough that it doesn't slide around your desk, but it's still compact enough that you can move it off to the side of your desk and not have to worry about storing it when you're doing your regular computing. Although it lacks the bells and whistles and slick look of other offerings, the Flightstick Pro has a precise, solid feel that is unmatched in any other joystick I've tried. CH Products has a long-standing reputation for quality, and if a basic joystick is what you're looking for I don't think you can top this one.
not a bad stick July 17, 2007 Harry Pandolfino (York, PA USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
First of all, beware, this model does not have a twist axis for rudder. I'm not sure how I overlooked that. However I have since added rudder pedals. Frankly I like the feel of the Saitek ST290 better especially with it's hand rest. This stick feels a bit blocky and cheesy compared to that one. However I cannot find any fault with it's operation and it does seem sturdy. It could use more stick buttons for functions.
