Amazon.com Review Well, if Pokemon can catch on in this country, there's no reason why Harvest Moon can't, too. This game takes the farming-simulation concept from its Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 counterparts and shrinks it down, removing some favorable aspects but including many more. The new version expands on the first Game Boy version, providing a bigger world in which to tend your farm. There are also more tasks to do in a given day, such as planting this and milking that, and all of it must be done at a frantic pace if everything is to be completed. The pace of the game is what really makes it addicting, but players can also take the day off and play minigames, which are fun as well. The one thing this game lacks is the dating and marriage aspect of the console games. This was one of the cutest features of the series, but there still seems to be enough to warrant a play-through. --Robb Guido Pros: - Seemingly unlimited tasks to complete every day of the game
- Fun minigames
Cons: - No dating for the lead character

Harvest Moon 2 Review March 6, 2005 Adam Sandler (Canton, CT USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is so much fun, I can't put it down. I play all day long and it's still entertaining! I think I'm bordering on abseccion!!!!! My son loves it to... he never loses interest in it! The only reason I gave this game an overall of 4 instead of 5 stars is the lack of dating. Other than that, this game is perfect!!! Hope you enjoy it to!
Awesomely fun game October 15, 2003 Willow (Michigan) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Harvest Moon 2 is an insanely fun game, which is pretty surprising, seeing as, well...it's a video game based on a farm. Whoever came up with the idea though, is intelligent. The game starts off with the mayor of a small town being told that a historic farm will be turned into an amusement park. The mayor takes it upon himself to hire someone to fix up the farm, and make enough profit to save it. That's where you come in. You grow fruits and veggies (every season you get new ones), raise animals once you have enough feed/money, and you can fish and gather berries. Every so often new garden tools, extenions to your farm, or plants are available. But, you only have three years to raise enough money to save the farm. Harvest Moon 2 is really, really fun, but there's a tick (it might just be in my game though, but I'm not sure) - you can't ever buy chickens. They're cheap, and a major source of money, but every time I go to buy them, the shop owner says I don't have enough feed. (I have the max. capacity of food stored in the silo.) Overall grade - A
As cool as a farming simulation can be! July 24, 2003 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Harvest moon is a great series. It is about farming. If you don't like wasting time moving around and doing virtual chores, don't get it. That means it is not boring. I bought HM2 once, and played it constantly. I was addicted! Unfortunately, I lost it in a move, and I was drawn here by it's low price without the auctions on eBay. I plan on buying it again. It's that good. If you want a better knowledge of the game, and whether you should get it, try Ushi no Tane. Just search on google or something for Ushi no Tane, which is THE BEST Harvest Moon 2 site I have ever seen. You'll learn anything you need to know there.

The game teaches us how to be responsible and take care of things (too bad there isn't a game on money saving!!!)
Great game, but a little too difficult September 27, 2002 Clark (NC, USA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
It's a great game, like all its predessors. The only problem I've seen is that it is a lot more difficult to make money from your crops. You also have to collect more grass to buy animals. I suggest you buy this game only if you are collecting them, otherwise, you should buy the title for the SNES, N64, Playstation, or PS2. This is because they have far more depth. Such as with the SNES version you can have around ten chickens, while on the gameboy edition you can only have four.
