Product Description GAMEBOY ADVANCE VIDEO GAME VERSION- HARD TO FIND GAME. LOTS OF FUN. GAMEBOY ADVANCE VERSION. BOMBERMAN TOURNAMENT. GAMEBOY ADVANCE VIDEO GAME. MADE BY ACTIVISION. GREAT COLLECTOR'S ITEM. A MUST BUY. ALL-TIME CLASSIC. HOURS OF GREAT SUPER FUN. HIGH REPLAY VALUE. GREAT FOR ALL AGES. HERE IS SOME MINOR INFO ON THE GAME.There are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Bomberman. Every major console and handheld since 1990 has been host to at least one, if not five, of Hudson's wildly addictive Bomberman games. The latest is Bomberman Tournament for the Game Boy Advance, released here in North America by Activision. Although longtime fans will bemoan the absence of costume choices and "Louie" partners in the game's multiplayer battle mode, the immensely satisfying premise of "bomb or be bombed" remains well intact. Straying from a recent trend in Bomberman games, the Game Boy Advance release of Bomberman Tournament contains a fully realized multiplayer battle mode in addition to its single-player quest. With the aid of a couple of link cables, you and up to three friends can duke it out in any of the game's eight multiplayer battle arenas--each of which has its own unique gameplay twist. Whether you're avoiding buried explosives in the land mine stage, hashing it out with full power in the hi-power stadium, or just keeping it simple in the standard arena, the variety of locations offers something for everyone. The game supports both multi- and single-cartridge multiplayer options, although the load times for single-cartridge hosting are somewhat excessive. The joy of Bomberman lies in its simplicity. Stuck in an arena with three opponents, you need to lay time bombs in order to trap and obliterate the competition. The last person remaining is the winner. As you vanquish foes and clear away obstacles, a variety of power-up tiles appear. Randomly selected from a pool of 10 different items, these tiles can do all sorts of mischief.
Amazon.com Review Bomberman has been around forever (OK, since 1990), and has starred on console systems as diverse as the Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64. Consistently great gameplay makes it one of the few series you can always count on. Fortunately, the brand-new Bomberman Tournament for Game Boy Advance is certainly no exception--it's a classic, through and through. The reason is stellar gameplay and simplicity, all combined with a heaping helping of action. It features a simple single-player quest mode, but it's in the multiplayer option--you face off against up to three computer opponents or friends over a network of GBA units--that the full potential of the franchise is realized. The puzzle-style gameplay is simple even for those new to the series. You've got to lay time bombs that trap your foes or obliterate them. Bombs also destroy obstacles and collect power-up tiles that give you new powers. Once all your opponents are destroyed, you win the level. In the past, Bomberman's single-player modes have been for practice, but this outing stretches the gameplay with eight large cities and a handful of dungeons. Bomberman is sent to destroy the enemy, including six giant bosses, and save the world in a somewhat Zelda-like environment. Yes folks, it actually has a plot, and it's not bad for such a simple game. The graphics are simple but well animated, and the music is straight out of the previous games, including the stirring Bomberman theme song. The single-player quest is worthwhile, but taking on a friend in head-to-head combat is still what the game is all about. It's the best of both worlds, and perfect for a handheld. --Andrew S. Bub Pros: - Solid single-player quest
- Great multiplayer mode
Cons: - The graphics are a bit bland
Amazon.com Product Description In Bomberman Tournament, players take the original Bomberman on a rescue mission for Bomberman Max, who has fallen out of communication since being dispatched to the planet Phantarion to answer an SOS call. The popular Bomberman series comes to the Game Boy Advance system with 10 types of weapons and power-ups, eight four-player maps, and more than 200 room-based puzzles.

Fun game, especially because of multiplayer mode! July 12, 2001 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
The adventure mode of Bomberman is fun to play on a boring day by yourself. The game is pretty short, but with the Karabon creatures, (which help you finish your adventure) the game has many puzzles that will leave you trying to get all the Karabons. But where the game really shines is its multiplayer mode. You get to bomb other players while collecting items to improve your bombs and trying to dogde other bombs. The stages are carefully planned out and all have their different features, like warps and pipes that hide bombs. It's not hard to get friends to play if there's a game link cable and a few extra GBAs, because of the single-pak multiplayer option. As you can see, this game is very fun for people who like adventures, collecting, and puzzles or if you just like a good multiplayer game. This game has a little something for everyone!
Keep On Bombing!! June 27, 2001 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you've ever played the N64 game Bomberman64 or the gameboy game you know all about Bomberman, but if you don't I'll tell you. Bomberman is basically about a little dude who goes around on quests while using bombs for his weapons. The gameboy Advance game has a fully intact quest mode, but the crown and jewel of the game is it's multiplayer mode. With the multiplayer mode you and up to 4 friends can play against each other or in teams and try to blow each other up. Best of all, you only need one cartridge to play with up to four friends. This is one awesome game!!!
It's a BLAST! July 23, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I played the first bomberman back in 1989 on the NES. What an addicting little puzzle game. Race around, bomb blocks, get powerups, hit enemies, make sure to stay out of the plus shape your bomb explodes into! 12 years later, Bomberman tournament graces the GBA. Beautiful graphics, music that won't drive you up a wall immediately, and a quest mode that's just like Zelda (kill enemies to open doors, get special items to move blocks or warp or shield) minus the sword, but ooh the bombs! With 6 different upgrades, you won't run out of ways to slaughter your enemies. The Karabon creature system used in the quest mode is just a way of giving your powerups something else to do. They are very easy to 'train' I found.. Bomb everything you can (plants, rocks, etc) along your way of the quest and you'll find enough powerups for your Karabons that you can (thankfully in my opinion) ignore most of this poke-ish part of the game. The tournament mode is a lot of fun also, bringing back the joy of original Bomberman style competition, and adding a lot of replay value to the game after you've beaten the quest. If only Zelda had a mode like this -- that would stick you in a room with 3 other Links and some random powerups. =) Heavily addicting, sometimes frustrating, but always enjoyable!

THIS GAME IS GREAT. It never runs out of fun. It mixes up bomberman, zelda and pokemon features. Its not a game u can beat in a few days.(unless your really good) along your journey you can get karabons pokemon like monsters for help.and the battle mode is good but its even better when you play it with friends
