Great Carseat September 29, 2007 R. VanCuyk (Wisconsin) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I wish we would have just gotten this one to start with. We got the Graco Travel System with a Snugride seat for our shower and that worked great - but it's not meant for bigger babies. I really like the fact that we can use this one (hopefully) until our son is 1 year old. It is so much easier to transport him to and from the car and in and out of stores when he is in his carseat. This carseat works great with our Graco stroller and the pattern, while it doesn't match the Bancroft pieces that we have exactly, is still close enough that it doesn't clash. My only real complaint is that we needed all new bases. It would have been so much easier if this seat fit on the Snugride base. Oh well. Overall, though, we love it. And I've read other reviews that complain about how heavy the seat is; I just don't think it's that different from the snugride. I mean, we have a 20 pound baby in it, and then the carseat weight itself is in addition to that, so it's a bit to lug around, but I don't find it more cumbersome than just a regular infant carseat.
Great Carrier but really heavy June 24, 2007 Jennifer A. Russell (Kennewick, WA) 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
I had this seat in the color fusion. The baby fit great in it and seemed really comfortable. I loved not having to take him in and out of the carseat to shop. 3 months after he was born, he was 15 lbs. Add that to the already 10 lb carrier and man was I struggling to carry him. We ditched the carrier and went to a regular seat. I would probably buy it again if we were having another child but I'd really have to reconsider due to the weight of the empty carrier.
wonderful October 7, 2007 Kathleen A. Farley (Willimantic,Ct.) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Graco Safeseat pretty much guarantees you will not need another rear facing carseat for your baby. It is good until 30 lbs and 36 inches, that should take care of 99% of infants. I love the adjustment for the straps in the front, because you can easily adjust the straps so your infant is snug. They really squirm around a lot in the beginning and this makes it easier. The carrier and base seems to be type of infant seat that parents like best. The carrier does get heavy, but you can eventually leave the carrier in the car and place your baby in it in the car. at least you don't need to buy another rear facing carseat. After they reach at least 1 year and 20 pounds they can be turned forward facing and you can usually find them a second carseat that they can use until they are out of a carseat.
Safety is key November 25, 2007 Andrew Kern (Atlanta, GA USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My wife and I ordered this car seat because of its outstanding safety rating. This seat is light weight and easy to install. The seat has a wide range for adjusting the tilt in order to make sure that the seat is at the correct angle.
great seat January 4, 2008 Anita Horning (Nor Cal) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great infant seat. My daughter is currently 17 months 22 pounds and 31 inches and we are just now starting to research her next step car seat. The seat fit very well in my old Jetta, my husband's 2 door Honda and my current Saturn vue. We've also used it in my mom's ford, MIL mini van and GPIL old truck as well as various rental cars while on vacation. Only my husband has a hard time getting it in and out of the car, but it is a 2 door, so I don't know that a smaller seat would make that any easier. We use LATCH with a base on my and my husbands car, and just the lap belt with no base on all the other cars we have used. It's easy enough to strap in using the seat belt, though I feel that straight lap belts seen to give a better fit than those with a shoulder strap. This seat will fit onto any Graco stroller, as well as lots of other brands of strollers to make an impromptu travel system, so just test it out in the store and you will probably find one that fits. The material is easy enough to wash, though my daughter seems to get a sweaty head pretty quickly in the summer. The harness is easy to snap together and adjust, as are the shoulder belts. I only had to move the shoulder belt height 1 time and that was quite easy to accomplish. She actually isn't even on the highest setting yet, but I'm ready to get her into a convertable booster even though she hasn't technically outgrown the seat yet, she's close enough, plus she has long legs and they're strting to get to the point that she has to bend them against the seat back so I want to get her into a bigger seat. Overall, I think this would work for most babies up to and past their 1st birthday. We've gotten 17 great months worth of use out of it, and we're able to skip the purchase of a convertable seat because she doesn't have to sit backwards anymore.
