too cumbersome a system October 1, 2006 adobe princess (New Mexico) 6 out of 20 found this review helpful
I really do not like bare minerals. It just seems like too many steps and too much trouble. I find other make up like the clinique almost makeup foundation, powder plus blush so much more easy. I just do not like the line.
Great for older skin! April 6, 2007 Barbara A. Malatesta (Danvers, MA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am 45 years old and I have used many, many, high, middle and low end products. I tend to change make-up brands every year year. For the past year, I settled on Laura Mercier, and, occasionally, MAC cosmetics. Well, I cannot say enough about the Mineral Veil, and I doubt I will ever stop using it. I have been using it for four months now, and it truly makes a difference in the radiance of my skin. It goes on beautifully with the full coverage Kabuki brush and is very easy to use. Yes, it took me a few times to get it right so as to avoid the "cakey" look, but honestly, it makes my skin look younger. I have freckles, broken capillaries, wrinkles, and large pores. Nothing will cover these perfectly, but the Mineral Veil has certainly made my skin look brighter, and more youthful. I use a concealor stick on the capillaries, under my eyes, and the for the occasional blemish, and the Mineral Veil takes care of the rest. Great product!!
Get a Demo! January 9, 2008 M. Loberg (Portland, OR USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been using Bare Minerals for about 2 weeks now, and I LOVE the mineral veil. I do have very light skin, so I can't speak for reviews in which there are claims that it "makes skin look lighter." However, as someone who struggled with patchy skin througout my life (and cystic acne when I was a teen), I can say that I am sold on this product for life. I have large pores, and BE covers them really well without clogging them. The mineral veil is definitely the "finishing product" for the BE line. However, if I do have one recommendation it is this: Get a Demo!!! Or at the very least, watch the video!!! This make-up should not be coming off on your shirt (I would have noticed that, it has never happened to me. You need VERY little of it to do the trick. Also, there is no reason that the small amount that you put on should ever "cake," as some of the reviewers are claiming. I have friends who have used way too much of this product initially because they were skeptical about how little it actually takes. I was, too, until I went to a BE store and had my colors matched and my makeup done. Nothing but great things to say about this product. It is great for balancing skin and can be re-applied (minimally!) throughout the day (although I have never seen the need for that, it stays in place well).
Use it with the Kabuki Brush March 20, 2006 reader_writer (California) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I use this with the Bare Escentuals Kabuki brush and get great results. It's a very light powder that goes on evenly, takes away shine, covers up pores and uneven skin tones. B/E recommends using this on top of their foundation which gives a fully made up look but I use it by itself too. This powder is great to throw on if you are just going to the grocery store or picking up kids from school since it gives a clean and natural look.
Simply the best! November 18, 2006 Tammy Ward (Louisiana) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have used Bare Escentuals for over a year now and it is by far and large simply the best make-up I have ever used. I have Rosacea and Melasma and it does a wonderful job covering up my imperfections without feeling cakey or heavy. It is very light, beautiful, and awesome!
