Tilting base needs compensation for heavy cameras - but good value! July 27, 2006 Per Loll (Denmark) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have a Nikon D50, and when attaching the camera, the tilting base of the tripod needs a little compensation for the camera weight. Hence, I haven't found any use for the libelle on the tripod. I have to look through the wiev finder to see if my set-up is level or not. Overall though, it's not a big problem, and hey, with the price of the tripod, I'll live with it.
Holly Smokes! For the money..... December 5, 2006 Dino A. (Tampa, FL) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
...you simply can't beat this deal! GREAT LITTLE TRIPOD! Does the job perfectly as a lightweight "back-up" tripod. I do have another big, heavy tripod for windy days but plan to carry this one on hiking trails and long distance trips. Just what I needed.
Easily broken October 17, 2007 Robert Lowery 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The hand crank on the tripod broke the first time I used it. Called Tiffen to get a replacement since they have a ten year warranty on their product. They said they would send out the replacement part, but after longer then a month I haven't received anything, which I'm sure will be the case until I throw the piece of c... out!!! Also, the camera moves on the tripod when the shutter is pushed. This seems odd since the use of a tripod is supposed to prevent this from happening. Dissatisfied customer. Don't buy if you expect to have the item repaired if it breaks within the warranty period, a laugh out loud ten years, or if your serious about quality. Better make that warranty ten minutes gentlemen!!
must have December 9, 2006 Michael Robbins 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
You can't beat the price for a full size tripod for your camera. Great for taking pictures of low light settings, night shots, etc. since the tripod will keep the camera still and won;t blur the shot. The only bad thing is the shipping on this is more expensive than the tripod itself! Still worth it for about $20.
