4 out of 5 stars Great mouse, but get a new one   May 5, 2008

This mouse is awesome. However, my first refurbished mouse had a "back" button that didn't work correctly. The replacement had a scroll wheel that was busted and didn't hardly scroll at all.

So get one refurbished if you want to save $40 or just look for a $20 off coupon and go to Staples or something.

1 out of 5 stars No good, out of the box!   May 15, 2008

Thought this was a good buy. Turned out to be a bad one. It just wouldn't work out of the box. Logitech customer service did their best but concluded it was a bad one and I was to return it.

Contacted Amazon and received wonderful "return policy" service. I sent it back pre-paid and my account was credited in a very short time.

Shame on Logitech for selling "refurbished" products that will not work.

Praise to Amazon for their return policy.

2 out of 5 stars Beware of Refurbished...   May 19, 2008

I bought one of the original MX Revolution mouses when they first came out. I love it. When I saw the price on this refurb version I decided to roll the dice so I could have the same mouse at work. It worked OK for about two weeks, then the battery crapped out. Because the batteries aren't user replaceable I had to return it. Amazon turned around a replacement in just a couple days, but now I need to see if I have the same problem. Refurbs on rechargeable batteries is probably a bad idea because of memory issues, unless they replace the battery during the refurb - which apparently wasn't the case in my first mouse. Wish me luck.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty nice!   April 14, 2008

I am replacing my old Logitech MX Laser mouse with this one as my old mouse is getting tired. I am pretty happy with the battery life, it has been more than a week and it is still charged. The scroll wheel is a little strange, it switches between the standard click-click wheel to a free-spinning wheel. I knew this before my purchase, however it functions different than expected. The default settings will actually track which application you are using and switch between the two modes automatically, which I found a little difficult to get used to. I have switched this feature off, and only use the manual switching mode now. Also, when in free-spinning mode, it seems to scroll very slowly. I can scroll much faster in the click-click mode than in the free-spinning mode. It also doesn't appear that you can adjust the speed of the free-spinning mode (you still can with the click-click mode).

The wheel on the side, under the thumb, also is a bit strange. It doesn't seem that you can change the function of this wheel. The only thing it appears to do is control the application swap tool, which allows you to switch between open applications. I would like to have been able to program this wheel somehow.

Overall it is a very nice mouse, it has very nice tracking, much more precise than even my previous MX Laser mouse, which is saying a lot. This is very nice hardware; I just wish the software was a little more polished.
