Scott Bath Tissue August 26, 2006 J L (Chicago, Il USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is not something I take pleasure in buying but it is important nonetheless. I have tried every brand out there. Scott, 1000 sheets has my vote. It has the necessary softness and is more than competitive in how long it lasts. The case pack is a convenient way to order. Now, I don't have to add bath tissue to my grocery list every week.
Forests are being destroyed to make toilet paper August 4, 2007 Azima (Rhode Island) 6 out of 25 found this review helpful
Forests are being destroyed to make toilet paper, facial tissues, paper towels and other disposable paper products. I used to buy Scott, but I can't in good conscience continue, so I am buying Seventh Generation toilet paper from Amazon. Many big brands also still use chlorine bleach, a very toxic substance containing chlorinated organic compounds and dioxins, to whiten their product when safer methods are available. I've recently learned that if every household in the United States replaced JUST ONE ROLL of virgin fiber toilet paper (500 sheets) with 100% recycled ones, we could save 423,900 trees!! If you can't afford to buy all your paper from a green producer, maybe you could just replace ONE roll each time you shop. Here is your chance to make a small change that will reap big benefits for our environment. Go to the NRDC website to see which disposable paper products use the most post-consumer recycled material and non-chlorine bleaching, and also to see how you can pressure the big paper companies to increase their post-consumer paper content.
1 ply and scratchy June 25, 2007 C. Guinn (Seattle, WA USA) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Because of the great reviews I assumed this TP was the stuff dreams were made of. Instead, I got more cushion in the TP in a state park porta potty. If you value your delicate areas, go with something like the Charmin Ultra Bathroom Tissue, 8 Giant Rolls (Pack of 5). On the pro side, I have not had a single toilet clog from this stuff. It is just so thin that it all goes down in one flush.
WIPE This Overpriced Item Off Your List! October 15, 2006 Jo-Anne (La Belle, FL USA) 4 out of 10 found this review helpful
While I DO love Scott Brand products...I don't think this package is such a great deal....this price works out to $1.60 per roll!! I thought buying in bulk was supposed to be cheaper?? You can buy a 4-pack for around $3.00, well, at least you can here in Florida! Total waste of money..unless it's necessary you buy in bulk. Maybe with the $20 off special it MAY be worth it? I'm in agreement with the fellow reviewers! Scott HAS changed (and don't you just hate when companies fix what isn't broke??) and their toilet paper now has a stiff, scratchy feel..guess that's why they came up with the Extra Soft version. And yes, it seems they WELD the start sheet to the roll now..I think they want you to use up half the roll just getting it started..to make you buy MORE and more frequently!! I think I'll pass on this "package deal"..I don't have money to FLUSH!
AMAZON PRICE - CHEAPER THAN WALMART + NO HAULING FROM THE STORE December 29, 2007 C. Peters (Vernal, Utah) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I always buy Scott Bath Tissue, anyway! It may not be as soft as Charmin or some of the other softer brands of TP, but it is just fine for our family's needs and besides it just gets flushed down the toilet anyway. I hate changing TP rolls and this way, I don't have to change as often as those softer brands. I am always looking for ways to save money on Grocery/Household items. This saves me only about $10.00 per year but then I don't have to transport it myself from the store. With the subscription rate including free shipping, Scott Bath Tissue white - 20 ct pkgs (pack of 2) is about 74 cents a roll. It costs me approximately 79 cents a roll at Walmart, including tax. So, I feel that this may be a small savings of $ but an added savings to my slowly- getting-older body!
