Paste is an over the top music magazine! January 28, 2006 G. Sundborg (San Antonio,Texas) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
As an aging,53,appreciator of music,I find Paste to be a welcome read every time it shows up in my mailbox.Granted- I do not know every artist mentioned in the magazine nor do I care to, but the artists I do follow are treated with respect and with a sense of genuine interest! The CD that comes with the magazine will help you decide beforehand whether or not to purchase that Winterpills or Eddie Spaghetti CD!As previously mentioned,in another review, the print can be small and my reading glasses are always nearby! I Can Buy Music Again February 14, 2004 Joseph J. Maniscalco (Alexandria, VA United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Those of us who grew up in the days before FM radio became merely a conduit of programmed music selected by anonymous suits and focus groups may have stopped listening and buying music lately. "Paste Magazine" lets us know that good music is still being made, even if it isn't always heard on the radio. Even you are fortunate enough to listen to satellite or internet provided stations, each month "Paste" will introduce you to a new artist who is making worthwhile music, or reacquaint you to an old friend whom you may have forgotten about, even if his old LPs are part of your collection. And the sampler CD is worth the price of "admission" alone. I look forward to every issue of this magazine.
A Magazine for Music Lovers February 14, 2004 Trond Feiring (Hamar, Norway) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am an adult male Norwegian with an academic occupation, and I have an addiction to music in all its different forms, both classical, jazz, rock and pop. But I hate bland mainstream pop music. Just before Christmas I stumbled across at my local newsstand a magazine called Paste. I started browsing it, and it struck me that this was THE magazine I would love to make if I had the money, knowledge and time. And I promptly subscribed to it. This is a magazine that all serious music lovers should have; a magazine for those people who love all kinds of music as long as it is based on passion, genuine feelings, a need to communicate, and skills in the art of making music. And it has given me a renewed faith in American culture; it is still much more than Britney Spears and stupid TV-shows and dumb politicians (no name mentioned. Buy the magazine or subcribe to it. You will not be disappointed!
SIGNS OF LIFE INDEED! February 14, 2004 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This magazine is the best! The heading is "Signs of Life in Music and Culture" and that is truly what it represents. Not only does it provide information about some amazing, non-mainstream musicians, it also comes with a sampler CD in every issue! Awesome magazine and I couldn't recommend it more.
