1 out of 5 stars Main focus seems to be selling diet books   November 7, 2003
A Reader (USA)

This magazine seems most interested in promoting books, etc. that it has a financial interest in--most notably lately the South Beach Diet. Prevention and it's website are now full of misleading banner ads promoting irresponsible dieting techniques and fads. Too bad, because more than ever nowadays we could use a nice little magazine about nutrition, weight loss, exercise and natural remedies that isn't influenced by it's publishing partners and advertisers. Skip this one, and try Self or Health for a more well-rounded look at women's heath needs.

I ordered Prevention Magazine, and did not like it. When I got the bill, I sent a cancellation notice, and got no more of them. Just today I got a notice from a collection agency for the entire subscription amount! I will NEVER order this magazine, and will tell my friends of this experience!

"Risk Free Guarantee
If you find that within the first 90 days of placing an order you are not 100% satisfied - for any reason - let us know and we will gladly give you a full, prompt refund. Any issues you may have received are yours to keep!"

....HA!

2 out of 5 stars Tons of Tidbits   October 10, 2006

There are very few serious articles in this magazine-- just tons of tidbits (stats/facts/tips). By the time you get to the end it's difficult to recall anything from the magazine; it's that shallow.

Occasionally there's a good recipe, but that's about it.

I love this magazine. It is EASY reading and what you read is easy to digest. There are so many tidbits of information that I find so useful. It makes me want to live a healthier life, and also have a healthier family. Since subscribing to it, I find that I have changed the way I do a lot of things. It's my favorite magazine which I compare to a ray of sunshine.
