I hated this magazine! May 2, 2003 17 out of 33 found this review helpful
When I bought Lucky I thought it would be a great magazine because of the great reviews it had on amazon, but when I recieved it I absolutly hated it. The only thing that is in it is really skinny girls wearing the newest fashion statement. It has no real issues in it like teen people, cosmo, or self magazine would. This magazine is purely for people who love fashion and make-up so much that it totally rules their lives! I would recommend to anyone who is not a Barbie not to get Lucky. You should really get magazines that have real issues about real people, not just a magazine about make-up and clothes that are way too much $$$$.
Lucky? not quite so in shopping May 20, 2004 17 out of 24 found this review helpful
Yes this magazine is for women who love shopping, but not for the average woman who doesn't want to spend $100 on a shirt, because that's about the average price of the clothing items featured throughout every issue. Out of my two year subscription to this magazine, I only remember one issue where there were some really good clothing at a reasonable price ($50). I use this magazine as a window to the latest trends, not as a shopping guide.
Magazine Fab! Subscription- not so hot. November 8, 2006 M. Slavin (Downtown) 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
Lucky is one of my frequent checkout pickups. Bright, fun, and not requiring any frontal lobe interference, it's the perfect pick-me-up for the early morning commuter train. I give it five fabulous stars! However, the actual subscription was very underhanded! Within the space of a week I was sent last month's issue (long gone from the stands), the issue just about to decirculate, and, finally, the actual current issue. So, two weeks after my order i am already 3 issues in to a 12 issue subscription, and none too happy about it. Conde Nast needs to be told that subscribers do not exist to let them clear out their unsold backlog!
Great magazine well worth the price July 22, 2004 C. Chastine (Lexington, KY United States) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I was initially turned off by Lucky because I figured the last thing I needed was a "magazine about shopping," which is how it bills itself. When I finally picked up a copy, though, I was pleasantly shocked to discover that this is NOT just another "you must have this item" magazine -- it's a magazine on how to DRESS, not so much how to shop. It gives great, wearable, classy ideas on different ways to wear each item, including many items you already own. It has earned me its subscription price many times over just by showing me new ways to wear items I was ready to give up on. While specific items are featured, it's easy to pick up on what the general desired style is so you can find a more reasonably priced equivalent. I find that the featured items also offer a nice blend of pricey and reasonable. All in all, an excellent magazine.
Best Fashion Magazine EVER! January 25, 2002 14 out of 18 found this review helpful
I love this magazine! The little "YES" and "MAYBE" tabs are so fun and help you find your favorite outfits back where they get lost in other magazine. There are outfits for every budget, they tell you exactly where to get it, how much and provide phone and web address information. I also love the "fashion tips" section showing you the proper way to where certain fashion items, they even show you how NOT to wear them! Other than fashion for yourself, they also have other fun things, for example, one month it was on Japanese wines and this past month was fun accessories for the bedroom. Lucky is fun and has a lot to offer.
