capture the Gabe Dixon train! August 27, 2008 Scott R. Johnson (Maine) I've been following the Gabe Dixon band's growth for the past 4 years, and this album has been nothing if a labor of love. Their music is a mix of Ben Folds piano rock, and influenced by Soul, Rock, Jazz and more. Buy this album...buy all of them in fact. Sit back, relax and be moved by soulful, passionate, and gorgeous music.
Brilliant. August 31, 2008 Souhail M. Karram (Boca Raton, Fl United States) If you enjoy piano based musical glory, get this CD immediately. It may very well be one of the best CDs of the year.
Talent flows from my speakers October 22, 2008 Jeremy R. Hoepf (Columbus, OH) Gabe Dixon's album is extraordinary. The fit and finish is incredible and no track is like the other. He shows his musical diversity from start to finish. All albums have at least 4 tracks that seem to get skipped, but this one I don't even consider skipping any. If Gabe would allow it, I would give him a hug for his efforts in creating this opus.
Pleasant Surprise !! November 1, 2008 Michael Halmy (Culver City, CA USA) I stumbled onto Gabe Dixon while looking for a John Mayer video on Youtube..... It took about ten seconds of Till Your Gone for me to be completely turned on by Gabe Dixon's music. In this day and age it isn't easy to find a younger musician who seems to be highly motivated by melody, pacing and an overall simple approach (basically playing as just a trio, and by the way, his drummer and bass player are excellent) to the delivery of their music. Gabe Dixon shares those qualities with songs and a vocal talent that somewhat remind one of former piano greats Elton John, Billy Joel and Bill Payne (a funky and gifted player who is best known for his work with the band Little Feat). My only criticism of the CD is that Till Your Gone is so great, I wish Gabe had delved into a few more songs that have that funky New Orleans second line feel. Other than that, this is a very musical guy who I think you will really enjoy, especially if you are into the timeless and enduring qualities of....great songs, great vocals and A level musicianship. ,,,,,,,,,,Michael Halmy
