Julieta Venegas Rules! April 26, 2007 John G (B'klyn,NY USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Julieta Venegas is an awesome artiste with a wonderful voice. She has talent and charisma and the album Limon y Sal proves she has what it takes to be a leader in latin music, because it is unique in it's musical style. All of her songs are hits that you will enjoy over and over again.I love her voice, her songs and the music in all of her albums.
Very Nice pop rock June 7, 2006 Rafa.el.Guerrero (San Mateo CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As good as the previous cd (Si), this one has lots of romantic, and non so romantic, music rithms are very mixed very nice, from regga, pop, norteno, and her acordeon. Me voy is a catchy song, perhaps others songs are nicer in lyrics. I love the CD just got it, Im sure will make good sales.
An experimental effort for Julieta (3 1/2 stars) June 26, 2006 MJL (Alpharetta, GA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is not a rehash of "Si" and does not have the instant appeal of it, either. It is also not as alternative as her first two albums. This does have some "pop" appeal, but there are likely to not be as many mass market hits like "Lento" from "Si". The tracks that are instantly appealing are "Me Voy", which is already getting Latin Pop airplay and is very enjoyable, and "Canciones de Amor", likely another hit waiting to happen. But beyond that, this takes time and is more of an acquired taste. Many of the songs here exhibit the angst of the first 2 albums in her lyrics, but have a much more produced and bright sound to them, much like on "Si". Experimentations that seemed to have worked really well are the dreamlike "Mirame Bien" and the catchy "Te Voy a Mostrar". "Primer Dia" is an attempt to do what Shakira and Thalia have done successfully with rap, but it does not cross into the English-speaking market (all Spanish) and Julieta's voice just doesn't fit here. Perhaps with a Reggaeton beat it might have achieved what it was looking to achieve, but it falls short. Though this is not up to Julieta standards, but this is still worth buying and will likely produce hits. The problem is that Julieta has been so good for so long, that we have grown to expect more from her. Still, Julieta's beautiful and distinct voice is so mesmorizing once again.

A little bit of everything! May 13, 2007 Vukasgrl (Albuquerque, NM USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you like a CD with a wide range of sound, this is for you! Julieta Venegas has a rich, raspy voice that compliments any musical style. Some songs have a hip-hop feel to them, while others could almost be described as country music. Of course there's a definite Latino vibe throughout... This CD is one you can just put in the player and let it go, without having to hit the skip button.
