5 out of 5 stars Hauntingly beautiful   January 15, 2007

I first heard of R. Carlos Nakai on the music channel I have on cable and I instantly fell in love with his music. This album is simply amazing, it's beauty is haunting and I can't begin to tell everyone how very pleased I am with my purchase of this cd. Every song is a masterpiece and the fact that each song is played in a canyon/cave adds to the mysterious quality of the music. This is a great album for anyone who is interested in Native American flute music and Nakai is the best in this genre.

I play this mans tapes as often as posible and as soon as I can afford to purchase all of his newest ones I will> I have been putting my foster children to bed with his music. I have allowed my self time to heal with his music. I listen to the music of this gifted man as I put together my doeskin dresses and moccasins. I feel the precenses of the spiritual guides while producing a meaninful piece of clothes to a meaningful spiritual song of this wonderful and healing man and his music.

Anyone who has visited the canyons and ancient Native American archeological sites, cannot deny the emotional depth of Nakai's music. He seemingly bridges present and past with his haunting melodies.

First heard this recording in the waiting room of the Banyan Tree Spa in Bintan, an Indonesian island off Singapore. The haunting recordings work well with the spa ambience - quiet bay views, calming incense, camomile tea and tropical greenery. I bought this CD on the spot, and whenever I play it, I am transported back to a realm of calm and relaxation. This is a great album for massages, for play in the shower room, or just for pure relaxation.
