This album is very solid from the minute you start listening, until the final note has faded from your ear drum. The songs in-between are both catchy and full of that grunge rock sound that enticed so many people in the early nineties. There is enough substance here to keep you coming back for more than just one play through. After more than a dozen times hearing the album, I am still discovering new notes and lyrics that I missed somehow in previous sessions.
This is really a must have for those who loved the era from which this band originally started. Blind Melon has come a long way through a tough journey, but they have stayed true to their roots and produced a fine album.

Being a fan a Bind Melon for quite sometime I was both scared and excited to hear that they were putting out a new album. Having picked up the band members solo projects from after Shannon's death (Abandon Jalopy, Extra Virgin, and Unified Theory) and liking those, I knew that the music would not be bad at all. Travis does fine job on vocals and no one but Shannon Hoon himself could do a better job...Although I do miss his energy.
If you liked Blind Melon's music before, For My Friends is an outstanding come back.

I really like that album, it's full of very positive songs. Travis (the new singer) is perfect, he is not Shannon but he does a great job. The other Blind Melon guys are amazing musicians and seeing them live is something you have to do if you have the opportunity.

After so many years listening to all we got from old blind melon stuff, its like unreal to finally have new material, it's like living all again...
feeling you're part of this great work is just priceless...
What a powerfull and multicoulor album this is... definitely the best album in a long long time...

Like most of you, I was skeptical that BM could make a solid album with someone other than Shannon. Boy was I wrong. While sounding enough like SH to fit the music he takes the songs and makes them his own. This is a must own for any BM fan in my opinion. Well done boys. Here's to hoping you guys put one out every year or two.
