Do not be fooled! August 5, 2008 TKath 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
Do not be fooled! This is not Foreigner! This is Mick Jones with a bunch of other guys. How dare you Mick Jones call this band Foreigner! Nobody wants to see you as Mick Jones but you know they will come to see Foreigner and you hope they dont realize the difference. Be a man and go solo and stop destroying the name of a great group. What you are doing is like Jimmy Page going out by himself and calling it Led Zepplin.
Rated as a collection, not one in a series August 10, 2008 Alexander S. Meyer (Laredo Texas) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I understand why people are asking why there is yet another Foreigner collection, and quite frankly this collection serves marketing purposes...1 ) to introduce younger listeners to the band (I'm all for that), and to in introduce the new singer to devout fans (I don't consider disgraceful since Lou Gramm wanted out). It's by far the most complete collection whereas previous collections had glaring omissions ("Night Life", "Break It Up", etc.) The disc also has great album and minor single tracks I would have never heard since I don't buy Foreigners entire albums. I would never compare the new lead singer to Gramm, but one listen to the new track "Too Late", and you know he can handle the challenge of singing the Foreigner catalog. I for one am grateful that I still have a chance to catch this band live, and applaud Mick Jones efforts to keep the music alive and sounding as authentic as possible...I know I would be alot sadder if Mick just gave up and walked away from Foreigner fans. I can't understand why anyone would get mad at another Foreigner compilation..They've been repackaging Elvis music since he died in 1977 and no one is griping about that...and now the only way to hear Elvis music live is through cheesy impersonators with bands who were to no degree involved with the real Elvis or his backing band. Buy this cd..it's got great music, great remastering, and the price is unbeatable.
32 PHENOMENAL SONGS - FOREIGNER'S 'NO END IN SIGHT' IS OUTSTANDING August 11, 2008 Barbara Rose (BornToInspire.com) 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you love FOREIGNER - you'll love this CD! 32 amazing songs, classics that remain classics for over three decades and a new song that rocks. It's the sheer PASSION of the band members that is so evident. Digitally remastered - sounds better now than when the songs first came out. This is one CD you'll want to take to the beach - or on a long road trip - songs that never get old, and amazing hits that ROCK. Guys, I hope you do a TOUR with this one - and ESPECIALLY play in Boca! BONHAM ROCKS, MICK ROCKS - FOREIGNER ROCKS! THE ALBUM IS OUTSTANDING. 10 STARS!
First disc, pretty solid. Second disc, meh. August 20, 2008 George W. Bush (Washington DC) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Back in the day, Foreigner was a great band. Their first four albums were classic and really rocked. Around the time of Agent Provocateur they started to go soft, but they left behind plenty of good music before then. The first disc of No End In Sight is awesome. It contains all of Foreigner's great early singles from "Feels Like The First Time" to "Double Vision" to "Urgent," and some awesome album tracks like "Dirty White Boy" and "Night Life." This is the best of Foreigner's work, and it belongs in any CD collection. The second disc is very scattershot, as the band started to decline. It does contain their only #1 hit, "I Want To Know What Love Is," and their last great single, "Say You Will." It also has one or two decent album tracks, but nothing measuring up to the quality of the first disc. But what is a surprise is the new song, "Too Late." It's a great song, about as close to classic Foreigner as you could possibly get these days. What are the odds? In short, you'll play the first disc to death and hardly ever touch the second one. But them's the breaks.
No End in Sight (2008) October 5, 2008 Jukebox Hero (Allendale, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You ask yourself, another Foreigner compilation? Yes, indeed! No End in Sight is a double disc set covering 31 years of Foreigner, including a couple of live tracks from the current lineup. Yes, there are a couple of double disc sets out there, but this one has the best price, and sounds good. I wouldn't go out and buy it if you already had one of the previous double compilations, but if you were new to Foreigner or want to replace your old albums or tapes without buying each individual title I would go for "No End in Sight". Check a great classic rock band.
