i am so tired September 23, 2007 Mark Waters (medford, or) 2 out of 12 found this review helpful
I have been a longtime skillet fan, and i am so shocked by all the reviews for this album. Ever since Skillet got a tad bit of mainstream success a few years ago, i have been so over this band. But when I heard Rebirth, I became interested in Skillet again. But when I bought this album, I quickly got tired of them again. John Cooper (Lead Singer) is married to keyboardist (Korey Cooper) and yet the album is all about broken relationships. So does that mean that the married couple is having trouble and just staying together for the band or what. I am so confused by that, and then I remembered if anyone christian band wants to be a secular artist it is Skillet, and I just figured they're trying to be more mainstream. If anyone knows anything about the Skillet history, you know that they just keep jumping from genre to genre and this guy here won't buy into it again.

I've been a Skillet fan for years now, and this is most definitely their best CD to date! VERY good. I love the use of strings in a few of their songs, like "Rebirthing" - what a song to open with! :-)

I stumbled upon Skillet after I got the X2005 cd. This new cd by Skillet is excellent. It sounds totally different than most of the material that is out there. I really like the combination of piano with the rock. They do a really good job of incorporating it (brings to mind Andrew W.K.) The vocals are also excellent. GIVE THIS CD A SPIN!
Heavenly CD!!! October 11, 2006 Kevin J. Steinmetz (La Verne, Ca United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Skillet has definitely been inspired by the Almighty with this one. This is a rock opera that lifts their musical talent beyond their already awesome status. The songwriting of this Cooper/Howes collaboration works to create songs that will lift you into rock heaven. The piano work and the orchestration really enhance the songs while not losing the rock edge. Awesome CD!!!
Skillet rocks once again. October 11, 2006 S. Ahn (Yorktown,VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow. This cd blew me away. It seems that Skillet is trying different things with all of their works. Please, Skillet can not be compared to any other band( especially not Nickelback). On the album, John's unique voice is still clearly audible and this is definitely Christian rock at its best. In my opinion if you liked Skillet's last two- Alien Youth and Collide, I don't see why you would not like this album. Sure, the band does not sound the same on Camatose but they have not lost thier edge yet. Come on, listen to the audio sample on Amazon and tell me. This is definitely better than drugs. Their experiements with different things brought awesome songs like rebirthing and wispers in the dark. All the tracks in the album has great message and they all rock. This album is so far the best album, I heard this year. Although I love pillar, their newest does not bring anything new to the table. But on the other hand, Skillet is bringing fresh meat for all the rock fans to chew on. You do not have to be a Christian to enjoy this. Careful though, it might rock your face off. Positive music with awesome lyrics; highly recommended for all those who love music. It's a must have for any collection. What more can I say!
