I started using this cd to drown out outside annoyances,The next door neighbors dog,the little kids next door,The next door neighbor who is taking drumming lessons etc.(we love them,but they are a noisy bunch!)And I'll be darned it worked!!!!Jason (and myself) slept like babies!It is also great to take on trips, just bring the cd along and it gives that familiarity needed to keep the baby on track with sleeping patterns we so carefully try to stick with.We are ordering a new one after 2 years,we wore out the washing machine track(our personal fave!)Love it,Love it,Love it I give it 10,yes 10 stars!!!!!!!!

This CD was a godsend. We would swaddle our howling son in a receiving blanket, jump right to track 2 (wipers), and rock him in the rocking chair (we sometimes used a pacifier too). He would go from a screaming fit to calm sleep instantaneously. He doesn't need it anymore, but it really got us through the first two months.

This is a great CD! Each track fades up to full volume at the start and fades down to silence at the end. This makes it nice to just play the entire CD or to loop one track since there are no sharp changes from one noise to another. So far the Car and Washing machine tracks seem to be our baby's favorites. When she outgrows the need for this white noise CD, we'll transition her to lullaby or classical music. For now though, this CD helps us keep her on a schedule and well rested by helping keep her relaxed and usually asleep during her nap times. As a bonus, the Waves and Rain on the Roof tracks are soothing for grown-ups needing to drown out noise while they sleep.

I bought this CD because my 4 week old son was having a hard time getting to sleep and I noticed a fan noise or running water would put him to sleep. The vaccuum sound on this CD worked like magic, he would go from crying loudly to sleeping soundly in a matter of seconds after we turned on the CD. Now that he is 6 months old we do not use it at all. He falls asleep in his crib on his own now and sleeps through the night. So, don't let anyone tell you your baby will become dependent on the CD.

This CD is amazing! My son loves the vaccuum track in particular, but the entire disk is very soothing to him. It really helps quiet him when he's over-tired and super fussy. I would recommend this disk to every parent. I find it particularly useful in helping my son take a nap; he definitely seems to sleep longer during the day with it than with out. A wonderful baby shower gift...if only I hadn't waited 2 months to purchase it!
