Pat & Neil are still going strong August 28, 2004 Darren (Jersey Shore, NJ USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
"GO" is a return to the power of "In the Heat of the Night" and "Crimes of Passion" with hints of "Tropico". After some mellow, middle of the road projects, 2 children and years of battling their previous record company, Pat & guitarist-hubby Neil Geraldo have revisited the sound and relationship themes that rocked us in earlier decades. Go illlustrates the evolution and staying power of the rock couple's creative musical collaboration and their marriage. On this CD and a new record label, Pat and Neil seem to enjoy what they are doing, while also enjoying each other in the process. Neil produced the album while both wrote most of the songs. The results of this continued partnership is very refreshing both musically and personally for them...and also for us listeners and fans. In this long awaited return to the rockin' sound of their early works, Neil has turned up his amp, while Pat continues to prove she can still belt out the high notes. This CD contains quite a few high energy selections and some great ballads. Pat articulates them all with her usual vocal prowess, proving she can continue to live in the house of reigning Queens of Rock & Roll. Go is just plain fun and the ending "Christmas in America" is a patriotic and touching holiday tribute in memory of the 911 attacks.

The new CD titled "GO" will take you right back to 1980 and all the things you love about Benatar's powerful voice and her husbands raging guitar. My kids are embarassed about how hard it makes their Mom rock out! I just can't help myself!
BEAUTIFUL INCREDIBLE VOICE TOTALLY OVERPRODUCED CD April 10, 2005 C. Peak 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am a HUGE Pat Benatar fan and I love this CD. BUT it is really overproduced. PAT seriously needs to work with some outside producers if she did ever seriously want a come back. Neil is a great guitar plaer, but producer...it ain't workin', her voice is still so AMAZING she deserved somethign better and a HUGE comeback. Also, why on earth they released HAVE IT ALL as a single is beyond me, GO was the obvious single, but just as the last CD they release the oddest song that no one will play. I LOVE PAT BENATAR and her music and this CD is good, but it has so many different styles on it , it makes no sense, she needs a REAL producer for her amazing abilities
25 years and still going strong! August 12, 2003 S. Gaines (Midway City, CA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
On 8/07/03, I was lucky enough to sit in the front row of Pat's Houston show (Neil, thanks for the guitar pick!) and I won a spot backstage getting a photo with Pat (thanks Pat!). It was a wonderful night! I was also able to buy "Go" at the concert, before the release date, so I've had a few days to listen. I immediately loved the first 5 songs plus the 8th, but it took a few listens to fully appreciate the entire CD...which is how long it took for me to appreciate my favorite Pat Benatar CD, "Wide Awake In Dreamland." Fans are going to be in for a surprise with "Go," it may end up being my favorite Pat CD of all time. The title track is amazing and it doesn't stop there, some other highlights are "Brave," "I Won't," "Have It All," "Sorry," "Out Of The Ruins" (such a great song, I felt like I was living what she was singing, amazing), and "Tell Me." She's been playing "Girl" in concert for a few years and it didn't grab me nor does it grab me now, but believe me, this is the Pat CD to have...I just hope she promotes it on TV, because her tour is ending and radio stations have not been Pat friendly since "All Fired Up." Many think that Pat's been gone, but she has produced some wonderful songs like "Everybody Lay Down," the gorgeous and heartbreaking "Somebody's Baby" and many others in the 90's. If you don't have 'em yet, try to find "Seven The Hard Way," "Wide Awake In Dreamland," and "Gravity's Rainbow," these are highly underrated CD's that radio didn't give a chance and most of the fans turned their back on Pat when her material started to mature and really say something in the mid 80's. Lastly, if you recently bought "Say You Will" by Fleetwood Mac, then get this one. Neil is to Pat's music what Lindsey Buckingham is to Fleetwood Mac. Both men take the music and escalate the material into something that other producer's cannot even touch.
Benatar Returns! August 13, 2003 Scott McQuillen (Sarasota, Florida USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This cd has it all. For those who like the hard rocking Pat, she still rocks hard, the title track Go and I Won't are both perfect examples of that. She also does ballads and mid tempo songs. Highlights include Sorry and In My Dreams. For those who are expecting or even wanting a rehash of her earlier work, you won't find it here. A good artist continues to grow and evolve artistically otherwise they grow stale. Pat and hubby Neil continue to grow with each release.Pat sounds as incredibly pristine and powerful as ever. Pat and Neil both prove that you don't have to stir up controversy or use profanity to make good records, you can in fact do it on talent alone and very catchy melodies that I found myself humming throughout the day. That my friends is rock n roll with a whole lotta class. Way to go guys! Give this one a chance. You won't be disappointed.
