This cd is so bad, I will make my effort to this review equally so. This cd is a joke.

4 out of 5 stars Worthy of a Spin...kinda thin on the "rock"   December 13, 2007

After downloading 3 of the tracks off this album I felt morally obligated to buy the CD, after all I really am for supporting the artist. I was a Kid Rock fan back in the days, I lost touch with Kid Rock after "American Bad A**" and I don't think I missed much.

In the time between American Bad A** I saw Kid with Hank Williams Jr and spending a lot of time on CMT (or whatever it's called now). Not surprising this album has a strong country if not folk feel, which isn't a bad thing.

Fans of the heavy Kid Rock will be a bit disappointed. I suppose gone are the days of Bawitdaba. Fans with a diverse musical taste will be delightfully surprised.

Since this album came out in October I'm surprised that it hasn't gotten more attention. The songs released thus far haven't been "bad" by my taste. I like the rocking feel of "So Hott" and "Rock N Roll Jesus" and I like the small town feel of "Amen". The first several tracks I can listen to straight through. I have to admit that if someone told me you could mix Werewolves of London and Sweet Home Alabama I'd have thought you smoking funny things, but it actually isn't bad and frankly I'm listening to "All Summer Long" several times just trying to hear where it's messed up...my mind just can't understand those songs being put together and it sounding as good as it does.

The last half of the album is so-so at best. There are forgettable tracks like "Don't Tell Me U Love Me" and "Lowlife" and the very campy, borderline awful track "New Orleans".

On the whole this album showcases a Kid Rock that's growing up and settling down. The lyrics show a desire for a simpler way of life that will resonate with a crowd that probably wouldn't have thought themselves to be Kid Rock fans. Some of the ballads demonstrate that Kid can carry a tune in a bucket with the best of them. The polished rock tracks are catchy and fun, unfortunately the album filler is generally pretty lame. (Yes, Kid I'm talking about all the throw backs to your first albums...of which this album really sounds nothing like.)

2 out of 5 stars I don't get it   July 31, 2008

I don't understand the appeal of this album or this guy. A couple friends and I drove to the river and back six times last weekend and we listened to this CD a couple times. My friend Scudd told us that he knew we didn't really care for Kid Rock, but this CD would win us over. Scudd is about as smart as a swatchguard, but we figured what the hell? This guy and talent haven't ever been in the same zip code. All he has given us is some really bad music that some drunk idiot will try to belt out at a karaoke bar at the end of the night thinking he is going to have relations with a porn star. The "All Summer Long" diatribe, are you kidding me? He manages to rip off both Warren Zevon and Leonard Skinard in the same song while managing to say nothing for 4 minutes. Wow, that is hard to do. What's next, ripping off Jethro Tull and Led Zepplin for a song about love set to the background of Aqualung and Immigration Song?

I am what original music is all about. I front a band called Asschowder that makes Kid Dork look like a butterscotch pudding on a rollerskating rink. We combine thrash polka with old school german chocolate cake rock. Our live shows are the things you'd tell your kids about if they would come home. You really need to do something about them. I heard last weekend they egged your friend Todd's house. Discipline starts early my friends. We ride around on big wheels for part of the show and stop to play stratego when we belt out "You just hit a bomb with your general". We are simply legendary and you have just passed average by reading this.

2 out of 5 stars ~Does anyone really think Kid Dork has talent~   July 31, 2008

I bought this album for my girlfriend who is a fan of this guy and some of his material is ok but this album completely stinks! Can't this dude make up his own stuff or does he like making a career of ripping off others people's work. On this album he strikes again ripping off Warren Zevon note for note. Someone should remind this dude that his 10 minutes of fame ran out like last year.

3 out of 5 stars It's ok............   October 9, 2007

Some songs have a good beat, some trailer park rock.

Hope Warren Zevon gets royalites for his use of his song. Overall it's ok.......
