All instrumental - no singing. June 9, 2008 Andrew A. Rector 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you want hear NIN's new sung album, The Slip, download for free at their [..] The Slip includes the new hit single "Discipline". Ghosts I-IV is all instrumental, so its quite different from other NIN albums.
Still good. June 12, 2008 William Hoffknecht (Fernley, NV) So Trent Reznor has been making music for a long time now and ever since "With Teeth", he has been in one of his most prolific periods. Also, even since "With Teeth", it seems like he has been getting more and more minimalistic with his work. Do not get me wrong, it is still good and this album as well as his newest one, The Slip, are both awesome. This is an instrumental work that covers a broad range of musical styles and moods, but as I was saying, it is more and more minimalistic. If you are a NIN fan, you must own this. If you are a fan of electronic music, this might suit you, but you are a fan of only the poppy NIN stuff or the radio hits, this is not the album for you, but on that same note, the entire cd is only 5 bucks, so you might as well check it out and if you do not like it, you are only out a couple of bucks in the end.
Great if you are a die hard NIN fan June 28, 2008 J. Andersen (Los Angeles, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are 36 tracks. No lyrics. A handful of the songs are really amazing. The others are slow and methodical but still have the unique trent reznor sound. Definitely worth it if you already like reznor's style. Otherwise, you might be disappointed.
Finally, Some Ghosts!!! August 15, 2008 Caleb (Sleepytown, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Yeah, Spooky Spirit Stuff! And who better to write about it than the NIN? A different title for this would be Selected Industrial Works (ala Aphex Twin), which isn't too surprising. Twinner did 1 1/2 songs for Further Down the Spriral, remember? There's quite a huge variety of styles on this album, and the more I listen, the more it grows on me! Just let your imagination conjure up some stuff! Alright, since the tracks aren't named, here's my humblish contribution for names. Of course, Ama*** doesn't get space bar... 1. Good but some how falls flat August 25, 2008 Bryan Hoffower (Orlando, FL USA) This is an excellent release for trent's first release on his own private label. I enjoyed it quite a bit, the unfortunate bit of it was that it didn't include anything but music, which i understand is for trents newest fad of wanting remixes made of his music (see year zero remixed). I enjoy the industrial noise, but i wish it had had lyrics.
