Ink Cartridge November 7, 2006 Ricky D (Naples, Florida United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This particular cartridge seems to hold up well and produces nice quality prints. When Ink powder does get low after many copies you can remove the cartridge and give it a shake or two and it is good for more prints. I have never counted the number of prints from this Cartridge...that will depend on individual setup and use. It certainly produces many more than the standard liquid ink type. I may cost twice as much but produces about 4x as many prints.
Good Print Cartridge January 11, 2007 Jason B. (Ames, IA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I went through 1 of these over the course of a semester, but I printed around 2000 pages when it was all said and done. The cartridge lasted longer than any ink cartridge would have and I'm very happy with my purchase. My HP 1022 is running good as ever.
HP Q2612A with HP 1012 a great combination March 13, 2007 John D. Hillmer (Waukesha, WI USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been using an HP 1012 laser printer with WinXP Pro for over 2 years. I'm getting 2,100 to 2,300 sheets per HP Q2612A (12A) cartridge and have been very pleased with the quality, toner, print, and the fact I've had NO issues with the toner, or the printer (other than one little issue that was my fault - read on for more). I've used about 5 cartridge's or so over this 2 year period. I only use OEM 12A's, as I don't want to mess with a good thing. The fusser (sp?) is built into the cartridge - so if you did get a little spec of something on the fusser, the next time you put a new cartridge in, you are back to clean again -- I know because I made a mistake once and fed a sheet with some wet white-out through the printer, and got a spec on the fusser that showed up on all pages. My error. Fortunately, the cartridge was just about empty, and when I put the next one in, it was clean again.
Stick with HP despite the price November 10, 2007 David Ross (Rochester, NY USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
While refilled cartridges seem like a bargain, my side by side comparison showed that the print quality was much poorer. I would dearly like to find a reliable supplier or manufacturer of refilled or compatible cartridges but I am not aware of any. We buy the HP original cartridges regularly for our home office. I have never had a problem with the HP originals. The current Amazon price of $61.99 (previously $62.99) is cost competitive with New-egg and HP itself. If you use several of these a year as we do the subscribe and save option for single cartridges is an even better price option (15% savings) even compared to dual packs. The price per printed page works out to something in the range of 2 to 3 cents for the toner.
Don't buy this item. June 12, 2008 C. Sahlstrom (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The HP toner cartridge is fine, but Amazon sells the identical cartridge as a generic, exactly the same when compared side-to-side, for around 20 dollars. It's time to end HP's monopoly on expensive sales. Get the same thing for much less, and recycle your old cartridge.
