5 out of 5 stars Excellent Phone   September 13, 2007

Panasonic definitely makes good phone, my last Panasonic lasted me 10 years of constant abuse (dropping on marble floors), after my current Uniden (lasted less than a year) started having all sorts of problems I decided to go back to Panasonic again, I've been using this phone for a while and I find it a really nice phone laden with bunch of useful features:

+ No static or any kind of interference with WiFi, clear and crisp voice every-time.
+ Hand set is small (it looks larger in amazon pictures)
+ Talking caller ID and selectable ring tones (7 provided) are really nice features, caller ID will pick the name of the caller from your phone book if you have already saved it, if that is not available it will spell out the name returned from the network.
+ Slow talk feature works great, it really reduces the talking speed of the caller making the voice more discernible
+ Long battery life and charges quickly.
+ Easy to navigate menu
+ Loud speaker phone
+ Easy VoiceMail access (I can directly access my Vonage voice mail), this phone will even alert me of a new voice mail from my vonage service.
+ This phone can save pin numbers and other such data and input this information as and when you require in a call, this makes life so much easier
+ Answering machine is simple to operate and stores upto 18 minutes of messages
+ Decent phone book of upto 50 numbers (easy to save and retrieve numbers)
+ Large and bright display.
+ Phone is decently prices considering all the features it have especially the fact that it is expandable to 4 sets.

This phone is an absolute buy and will be more than suffice for all your home phone needs. I especially find that this phone is fully compatible with the extra features provided by Vonage, of-course this phone should work equally well with a fixed line phone network too.

5 out of 5 stars Panasonic Supersonic   June 26, 2007

I've recently replaced my old cordless phone, a Uniden model with this Panasonic. The old phone seems to have a shelf life of three years, then the battery replacements no longer charge the phone. A waste of money; a point which the manufacturer negects to tell you. Other friends with the same brand phone have had identical failures. So far, the Panasonic works better than expected. It is easy to program and use. It has a multitude of settings, so you can customize it in many ways. I have caller ID, and it even has a function for a voice Caller ID. When there is an incoming call, a voice tells me who it is, so I can choose to answer it,or let the answering service pick it up. Neat!!! It is compact, and lightweight, and the keys are easy to use in one hand. The price is very reasonable, and I highly recommend this brand and model to anyone interested in purchasing a new phone, without breaking the budget.

4 out of 5 stars A great little phone--with a few minor drawbacks   April 11, 2007

Phone and answering machine work well and are easy to use--Five stars here. We selected this model specifically because it was one of the few that is wall mountable. Well, when installed, it is not flush with the wall, and protrudes enough to be a potential hazard. We're using it on our table, but that was not our intention. The only other drawback--can't leave a memo message on the phone itself. I must "call" myself from my cell to leave a message for a family member--my last machine had a memo button which we miss.

5 out of 5 stars Best Phone ever, Excellent value for your money!   July 1, 2007

This phone is the latest model from Panasonic. There are no antennas/edges on the base/handset. Excellent voice quality with voice enhancer. Easy and simple to use Panasonic menu. Unlike previous panasonic models, this phone stores messages on Flash memory, making it lighter than previous model. Overall, this is the best phone in the market today for your money. I bought this phone from Panasonicdirect.com in sale for under 50$.

1 out of 5 stars A lot of small annoyances add up to a bad product   January 24, 2008

I bought this phone to replace my old 900mHz Panasonic cordless phone, which I had for years, but once I moved out of a studio apartment, I needed a phone with more range. Unfortunately, I bought this phone.

The phone works as advertised, the signal is strong, and the voice quality is great, but everything else about this phone is awful:

1. The ringer at the base is MUCH louder than the ringer on the handset. If they are anywhere near each other, the base drowns out the ringing of the handset, making it impossible to locate by sound (there is no independant volume for the base.

2. The speaker phone is located on the handset. This is possibly the dumbest thing ever. In my old Panasonic phone, if I could not locate the receiver, I could just answer fromn the base using the speaker phone. With this model, if you do not find the phone in time, you miss your call.

3. The LEDs are in the wrong place. The back-lit lcd screen is great, and generally easy to read, but unlike previous Panasonic models, the keypad is not backlit. Without backlit keys, dialing in the dark is difficult, and with all the superfluous buttons on the keypad (more than my cell-phone) dialing in the dark is impossible.

4. The voice-ID is the most annoying thing in the world. The phone will actually call out the name of the person calling you (as long as their name is in your pre-set phone book), but this option cannot be shut off. There are directions in the owners manual to disable it, and I followed those directions, the display says that this feature is disabled, but the phone still spouts off in an annoying female voice "Call from Veri-zone Weer-ells" any time someone calls me from a cell-phone.

The attached answering machine has it's own problems, but the sum of it all is that Panasonic has taken a huge step backwards in the usability of their phones.

This phone is so annoying that I am going back to my old 900mHz phone, and will just deal with the static when I wander into the kitchen.

We'll be adding even more exciting features to assist you in the coming year.
