Fast, decent price December 30, 2007 Syed Z. Hosain (San Jose, CA USA) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
There is not a lot to say about this printer. It is relatively low-cost, prints darn fast (although it does get a bit ragged on the text in this mode) and seems to be working pretty well. I like my Canon ink-jet printers a bit better (they are 6 color printers ... better for photographs), but this printer is not at all bad for the money! The individual ink cartridges are about the same cost as the Canon cartridges, *but* I have not yet had a chance to print enough pages, since I just installed the printer, to see if the yield is the same or lower. So, I cannot comment one way or another, on the previous reviews that said that it was more expensive to use.
Fine Inkjet Printer April 23, 2008 Green Pineapple (Honolulu, Hawaii United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First of all, you need to get a laser printer if all your printing is text. It's not cost effective to buy a color. Buy color inkjets only for color. I don't use my inkjet for photo prints. It's cheaper to go to Costco and get photographs anyway. I use my inkjet for my graphic layouts and for proofing. I had a C86 that died after 3 years. I definitely researched my inkjets. This was the only one that still used individual ink tanks- though there are 2 back tanks (why? I have no idea). Multi-tanks (cyan, magenta, and yellow together) are lame because once one color runs out, you need a new one. Sure, cleaning the heads eats up some ink, but not 20% as some reviewer said. This printer is louder than my C86 and isn't super fast like I expected, but it's still fast. This prints as well as my C86 and it's works fine for me and my projects. I've also learned my lesson and buy my printers from Office Depot. They have an excellent replacement plan (no exchanges just replacement gift card for the amount paid for the printer). Surprisingly, I've printed many pages and the ink that came with the box is still going. Edit 5/13- I still have not had to change my inks yet. I just wanted to add one con (I had this same problem with my C86): The printer can't seem to push photo paper all the way to the end. Making the inks smear and print over itself. That's the one thing that sucks.
fast but loud March 15, 2008 A. Graves 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
sleek, compact printer that works quickly and prints very clearly, but Very Loud while printing. I would recommend this printer with this caveat. Good price for the quality of work produced.
Ink is overpriced Watch out, no longer recognizes refill cartridges! May 30, 2008 S. R. Jucker (Renton WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The problem with Epson is the high cost of printing -- over 2x the cost/page compared to Canon, HP, others (ref. Consumer Reports). Note ink refill is about the price of the printer -- a marketing trick! The printer works very well for the price, but my Epson will no longer recognize non-brand cartridges, so I'm giving it to away and getting another brand. This will pay off after 2 refills.
Epson Stylus C120 does not support Windows 98 June 16, 2008 Fred Keen (Tenafly, NJ USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased the Epson Stylus C120 in order to experiment with refilling Epson Brand cartgridges and also for testing aftermarket brands of cartridges. The printer functions well using Windows Vista. I had intended to use the C120 with an older computer running Windows 98. Upon trying to install the printer on the Windows 98 machine I found that Windows 98 is not compatible with the C120.
