One thing missing July 12, 2007 E. A. Dahill (Maynard, MA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I like this phone a great deal - the sound quality is good and there are some great features. The one feature this item is missing is that there is no indication of how many messages you have - just that there is a message [or messages].
Great Phone with nice features August 12, 2007 Scott D. Bateman (Houston, TX) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
During the first day or two of use you may experience some static on the handsets. We were about to pack up the phones and return them, then it stopped? Maybe just the batteries adjusting or something. At any rate -- love the phones now. Should note that you can copy phone book entries from one handset to another. Each handset can have a different ring. Itercom feature may alleviate yelling across the house forever :)
Great phone - but not during a power outage. August 18, 2007 Henry Gross 10 out of 35 found this review helpful
This phone is definitely the best cordless that I've ever used, and all its features are great, but if you need a phone during a power outage to report the outage, like we do living in a rural area, then you'll need a backup, because without power the base unit can't broadcast. The manual does say you'll need another phone for use during power outages. If I'd known this beforehand I wouldn't have purchased it.
Decent, not great September 14, 2007 jef3r 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I ordered these phones because they were a reasonable price compared to what I'd seen and they were the latest technology (dect 6.0) and a decent brand name. According to everything I'd read, these were supposed to have the clearest signals, no static, no interference, etc. So, I was a little disappointed when I plugged the phones in and got static SO BAD that I couldn't even hear the person on the other end. I thought it was because I was too close to an "electrical appliance" which it says can be a problem, so I moved the base unit as far away from all electrical appliances as possible which, really, was just the microwave but I still got major static. I'm a little annoyed at that given that 1st floor phone jacks are, after all, almost always in the kitchen and if 5 feet away from a microwave isn't far enough to reduce static then that makes it a pretty worthless product in my eyes. Anyway, I was going to return them but decided instead to move the base unit upstairs to see if that made a difference. It did. Now the static is ALMOST gone and the phones are usable. I'd return them but didn't really feel like dealing with shipping them back and what not. I just really needed phones. So, all in all, they're okay and their features are pretty cool but I'm not super happy with the actual performance. Oh, and one really annoying issue with the features...in the answering machine menu on the phone itself, you only have the option to "erase all" when it comes to deleting messages. You can't just delete one at a time. The only way to do that is from the base unit (which is now inconveniently located upstairs) and delete the messages as they play. I'd really like to be able to do that from the handset since that's my primary way of message playback.
phone review September 15, 2007 Jeffrey C. Ahrens (milwaukee, wi) 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
the phone is great, logical user interface, sounds clear--- all of this is very good. the bad is the answering machine does not 'hear' or recognize cell phone DTMF (the number button sounds). This means that you cannot access your messages remotely from your cell phone. You can access them from a land line, but guess what? When I travel, I would call into the house via my cell phone!! so I am back to using teh sevice provider voicemail with the monthly fee. not happy, buy another product, not this one.
