According to the item description, it was VN4100PC recorder. But I received the VN4100. That's the different products. One is PC downloadable and the other one is not. Also it is in very poor condition. The battery was leak. That means it has been stored for a long time. I return it and get a refund. It is really dispointed me. When I made the order, there is no comment for this product. Now, I find out that everybody got the wrong one and DO NOT BE FOOLED AGAIN!!!!

Amazon is still shipping the wrong item. I read the reviews and ordered the VN4100PC hoping that Amazon had fixed their inventory problem. Unfortunately, they shipped the VN4100 instead of the VN4100PC and I had to go thru the hassel of returning it.
Follow up comment: Amaozon promptly shipped the correct item after I returned the wrong item.

Solid voice recorder. does what it needs to with good enough quality. however, you can only transfer audio files with bundled software. would be 4 stars if it showed up as a flash drive when connected in which you could drag and drop folders to your hard drive to import. Also software isnt compatible with OSX which is something that is no longer acceptable with the growing popularity of macs. Folder set up is also a little confusing

Before buying this digital voice recorder, I was a little skeptical because of the not-so-high average rating on here. However, I must say that this thing works great. It does what it's supposed to do with no problems. The Extra High Quality recording option is great. The only 2 slight minuses are 1) it takes a few minutes to transfer a 50minute file onto the computer, but if you're not in a rush, then there's nothing to worry about, and 2) for some reason, after transferring the files, they won't play in Windows Media Player, even though they are wav files, but they do work in other media software such as iTunes and Realplayer. The battery life is good (have not changed batteries yet and I've recorded over 10 hours), it is light, small, and easy to carry.
Overall, I highly recommend this product.

When I first ordered this product they sent the VN4100, not the PC one. So Amazon exchanged it for the correct one. Following the directions to insert the date is easy but apparently it doesn't keep "tracking" the date because every time I use it, the original date displays. It is a pain to keep changing the date or maybe I just haven't committed the directions to memory yet. I'd rather turn it on and have today's date displayed. The reception is good and recording is not difficult. I find using 3 different folders for recording a little confusing. Be sure to remember to use the "hold" button as an on/off switch or the battery will wear down too quickly.
