There are a number of factors that are in play here, the first being that may times these units have been discontinued for years, have unique features, and are very hard to come by, basic economics of supply and demand. In addition, the MSRP was established many years ago, where the dollar was 25% stronger, and the machines initially were made overseas with cheap labor. Lastly, our cost to merely aquire the unit is often higher than the MSRP because of the secondary market (supply and demand again). Then comes refurbishing and all the other costs to produce the best product and support, and at the same time try to make a sustainable profit so were here to support what we sell

 Can't get better than this! November 5, 2002
This is absolutely the best phone I have ever found. I was surprised to read a negative review and decided to place my own. We have owned this phone for a couple of years now and had NO PROBLEMS. I'm actually looking to buy this phone again because my 15 month old just gave it a bath in the toilet and it now needs to be replaced. The whole time that we have owned it, the reception has been clear, no interference, operates perfectly, the phone number storage for speed dial is great (holds 50 numbers!), and even after being dropped repeatedly (we have 3 kids: 6, 4, & 15 mo) it has always worked perfectly. I can't say enough. This is a definite great buy. And, the price is half what we originally paid for it a couple years ago.

I've had this phone for about four years and it has been great except for one thing. The LCD screen is almost completely useless now. It started losing "lines" of pixels both horizontally and vertically. Now enough are gone that memory dialing and caller id are useless on this phone and I am living in Tierra del Fuego ,when the replacement it's dificult.

This is the best phone I have ever owned. I have had it so long I don't even remember when I bought it. I have had no problems with it at all.
