Great quality and reliability. May 12, 2007 AjuMatt 18 out of 24 found this review helpful
This is a really nice cordless phone from Panasonic. I believe it's their newest released model. It came with 3 extra handsets and charging bases for those handsets. The phone is very reliable. Panasonic phones are the best phones out there, but I still find many problems with this specific model. The speakerphone and the volume levels are not as loud as I wish they were. My old Motorola set was very nice, but the keys on those wore out too fast. I'm not so happy about the extra charging bases either. The bases are so light, and they can move around or be knocked down very easily. The voice caller id is not very helpful sometimes. It seems to pronounce abbreviated names wrong, for example, USA as uousa. Another problem is that you can't name handsets(family room, kitchen, bedroom). I also don't like the phonebooks on these, because there is no easy way to make the phone books available to all handsets. If you want to share the phonebook, you have to send the entry to other handsets. Overall, this phone is good enough, and maybe better than most other phones you may buy for higher prices. This phone would be the best in the market if it had all the features mentioned above.
Talking Phones May 9, 2007 Phillip W. King (Houston, TX) 16 out of 19 found this review helpful
Have you ever scrambled to get to the phone to see who's calling? With this product you don't have to worry, it audibly tells you who is calling. With this wireless technology, it is easy and convenient to have phones strategically placed throughout your home (especially where you do not have connections). I am never far from the phone and this product is awesomely reliable. I would highly recommend it to you!
THE most outstanding phone system I've ever owned -- TEN STARS January 16, 2008 Brian Baker (Santa Clarita, CA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I can't say enough about this phone system; it is -- BAR NONE -- the best phone system I've ever owned, and I wish I could double the number of stars I give it. My office is in my home, so this system serves double -- and heavier -- duty because of that. Let me tell you what I like about this system. First, and least important, it just flat-out looks good. This is a well designed system aesthetically. More importantly are the functions, so let's take a look. The base unit can be located anywhere, but every single extension acts just like another base unit. The entire system stays synchronized, but you can glance at whatever unit is closest to you and see whether or not you have any messages (a blinking light on the remotes, or a blinking light on the base), what time it is, charge status, any incoming call info (caller ID), play back your messages (and on speaker, no less) on the extension, call waiting, and on and on and on. For all intents and purposes, every handheld unit acts just like a base unit. It's terrific! In dealing with calls, it functions very similarly to a cell phone: dial your number, then hit "Talk". Or hit "Speaker". Whatever! Same with answering. In my house, I have three handhelds: one in my office, one in the kitchen, and one in my bedroom upstairs. Total communications blanket in my home. It's even capable of another handheld if I needed it (which I don't), plus the base unit ALSO has full capability as a speakerphone. Sound quality is flawless. Each unit has an independant volume control, they all have synched access to your call list and stored numbers, and each has Caller ID logs, too. This system does about anything except make my breakfast. I've had this system now since last Spring, and I am constantly impressed by it. This is the best phone setup I've ever owned in my life. I'm not overstating that.
Great Product, BUT...... September 14, 2007 M. R. Reagan (New England) 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
I bought this product about a week ago. I'm satisfied it's performance is "as advertised"; all the functions function as they're designed to and it has several new and nifty features not present on my 6+ year old version of Panasonic's 2001 phone/answering machine. The range of the units is great. I can talk all over the house, up and downstairs. The voice Caller ID is totally handy and so far there've been no hilarious gaffs as the machine tries to pronounce difficult names, although I must say I would welcome a few mistakes for humor's sake. The unit is easy to program, the vocal clarity is rather good. At this point my only complaint is this: what the HELL was Panasonic thinking when it designed that ridiculous wall mount? All my other Panasonic units (and there have been a few dating back many years)were wall-mountable so that they lay (more or less) flat against and parellel with the wall. This new version sits perpendicular to the wall, which position makes its use quite awkward unless you happen to be well over 6' tall. It also juts out in such a way as to make bumping or crashing into it inevitable. Finally, it's aesthetically egregious. However, I'm otherwise altogether satisfied with my purchase. If I could have given stars in half increments I would have rated this product at 41/2 for the reason/rant already stated. Thanks for reading.
Just About Perfect! October 11, 2007 Carl W. Farmer (DALLAS, TX United States) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have been fighting another brand of phone system for the last two years (now in the trash), and can't tell you how pleased I am with this one! Arrived in perfect condition, and I got it set up and programmed very easily. Every feature seems to work just as advertised. We have two individuals with some mobility issues and this 4 phone system allows us to have a phone within reach just about everywhere we could possibly need one. As a take-a-long the range and power allow me to carry the phone to the extremes of my yard and it still works clearly. Thanks for a great product! One issue nearly got me though. After setting everything up according to instructions, I found the base unit was "dead" and none of the handsets would communicate with it. After re-tracing my setup steps, I eventually determined that the power jack that plugs into the base station has two distinct "clicks" when inserting it. I had only pushed it in to the first click, and that did not get the power connection made properly. New purchasers might watch out for this potential "glitch".
