I was going on a long overseas flight to central asia, one I had done before and knew that the in flight movies wouldn't be in English. I decided to invest in a portable DVD player and knew that I wanted to watch more then one movie (14 hour flight). So I picked up the spare battery. It lasted about 3-3 1/2 hours, so it did what I was expecting. About the only thing I don't like is that you need to press a button on the side of the battery to check its charging status, rather then it just flashing green when it's done and red when it's not.

DVD-U9 plugs right into the eeepc 701's power button; it extends the 701's two hours to at least six hours of video watching and/or computing.

I bought this battery for my Insignia brand portable DVD player for a airline trip across country and to have when I deploy overseas. I bought it over the other advertised batteries because it listed a 4-6 hour play time. I have charged it twice and it has only delivered a barely 3 hour play time. I wouldn't buy another one and would return it but am leaving for a trip shortly so will have to live with the limits of my purchase but absolutely do not recommend this battery to anyone that might expect the advertised play time.
