Not just for breakfast anymore--yogurt as a cooking ingredient June 1, 2006 Joanna Daneman (Middletown, DE USA) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
How about stuffed kibbeh (finger-sized lamb meatballs) in yogurt sauce? What about curry, cucumber soup, grain salads with yogurt sauce and stuffed zucchini in yogurt sauce? If you want to add a Middle-East or Asian flair to your cooking and are tired of lashing tomato sauce on every baked dish, this is for you. Yogurt is very versatile and is used world-wide as a sauce or ingredient as you would cream, cheese or milk. Depending on how you make yogurt, it can be creamy, thick like sour cream, thin like buttermilk, sweet or very tart. This book gives you ideas how to make yogurt and then how to incorporate it into all kinds of recipes. The book goes from soup to desserts, with everything in between and is a very complete cookbook in itself. Recommended.
More than I thought it would be.... June 7, 2007 M. Russell (Chicago) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Bought this for my daughter to accompany a yogurt maker. I thought the purchase was for recipies for "making" different yogurt products. It is but, also a cookbook of recipies from around the world "using" yogurt. Easy to read and follow format. Those I have personally tried are very good!
Nice Book February 17, 2006 Dianna R. Collins (Ottumwa, IA USA) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Good recipes and explanations, ideas and how-to. Good companion to my new yogurt making machine.
The Book of Yogurt by Sonia Uvezian August 29, 2006 Arlene F. Whyte (Tinton Falls, NJ) 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Wonderful book and well written. Anyone who wants to eat healthy should buy it. There is nothing like homemade yogurt. Even my Bischon loves it. I make it at least once a week.
Great addition April 11, 2007 Lisa Rivera 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
for the Salton yogurt maker. No pictures needed just "chocked full" of useful information and wonderful recipes. After opening the book and reading I could not put it down. I pulled out my trusty paper clips and marked the recipes that will be prepared. If you are new to yogurt making or just enjoy trying new things this is the book for you!
