Great product February 15, 2005 Stephen England (Austin, TX United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Using one workbench kit and two sets of shelf links I reorganized my entire garage in one weekend. Total cost about $100 for the components plus $300 for the wood - great deal. I'm ordering more shelflinks right away for my workshop.
Great kit, except for one little thing... June 3, 2005 Mike 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is a great kit and using it, I was able to build a very solid workbench. The leg clamps and storage hooks that come with it are a nice bonus. I subtracted one star because the screws that came with it were a little too short to get a good bite into the wood. I ended up using 1.5 inch wood screws to assemble it and it's rock solid. I made mine 6' by 3' with a shelf on the bottom and used the shelf links to build a hutch with a pegboard back wall. Plenty of work and storage space. I spent about $100 for lumber. Like several others have stated, this kit does not come with lumber. The pictures are meant to representative of what you can build using your own lumber.
I couldn't believe it! September 7, 2005 John W. Willis (Tennessee) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I couldn't believe it! Finally someone made a useful and easy to use product with great instructions. I was skeptical when I first found the 2x4basics Workbench. I was actually looking for plans and dimensions to build a bench. Don't hesitate it's a great product. I was careful when I purchased my 2x's so that everything lined up within a fraction of an inch. I can imagine the agony you would go through if your boards were cupped or bowed. Don't think you have to get expensive lumber, I picked mine from the pile at the "orange" home center, $2.58 each. I used 3/4 plywood for the top and 1/2 for the lower shelves. I couldn't be more pleased!
Good product March 21, 2006 Mark Trulock (Chicago, il USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I purchased 2 sets of shelflinks a month ago and found that building the shelves was very easy. The workbench was also very easy to build. I decided to make mine 3'x 6' but I could have made it up to 4' x 8' if I has the room. The shelves below the worktable include a lot of storage. My only real complaint is that the vise attachments are kind of cheap. The kit also includes a set of shelflinks, I used them for more storage. I redid my garage with these products and it looks and functions very well. Total cost for my garage renovation was $120 for the workbench and all the shelves and $150 for wood.
Thanks Finley!!! May 26, 2005 Glenn David Naydan (Santa Clara, CA United States) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
After reading reviews on this bench, I purchased the Finley for $49.99.( after the thousands I've already spent in converting my garage into a workshop, what's another $50.) Well to my surprise, this bench turned out to be perfect for me. Great structural supports (yeah, yeah I know it's "plastic")and alot of little extras included.(vises, holders etc) all add up to a great idea!! Anyone who thinks this includes the wood should check between their ears for solid material!! Thanks Finley and Amazon reviewers, who I depended on getting my 1st rate workshop going at a reasonable price!!
