Very easy workbench to build June 30, 2006 Larry Vanmersbergen (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found the finley workbench leg kit to be very easy to build and the result is a very sturdy workbench. I built mine to be 8 feet long. You just get the lumber and screw it together. You can't beat it.

I finished a 3x6 workbench in less then four hours and only two trips to the hardware store. Having a power drill and miter saw helped. It is much better than the ready-to-assemble that you find at Lowes or Home Depot. The total cost of the kit, lumber, and a light fixure was just under $140, tax included!

This kit is very well thought out. The directions are pictorial, but give you all of the needed information. I built a very solid serviceable workbench in under two hours using this kit. I especially like the thought in angling the screws that secure the 2x4's to the uprights. This design pulled all pieces together very snugly and securely.

I highly recomend this as a short-cut alternative to building your own bench from ground up.

I first looked at this Kit a couple of months earlier .. and searched around for different places to buy it. Ultimately i purchased it here for $20 cheaper than i could find it anywhere else and was i ever pleasantly surprised! This Kit is amazingly versatile. You are only limited by your own imagination! Mixing and matching ... creating your own design that fits exactly where you want it to be. All you do is plan your project, buy and cut your wood and assembly your bench and/or shelving. These are so well designed and sturdy with all pre-drilled holes that, even a novice like myself, completed a workbench that is the envy of my friends. Tim C.
