A great value dust collector June 22, 2000 Richard Gluck (Pleasanton, CA United States) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I am so glad I bought this! This is one of those things that I should have purchased twenty years ago rather than leaving a coat of dust over everything in the garage! So far I have used this with my planer, my cabinet tablesaw, my router, and my open stand bandsaw with excellent results. Ther is little or no cleanup. Easy assembly. My friends and I agreed it was acceptably quiet - you can easily have a normal conversation standing next to the machine. ...you can only connect to one machine at a time so be willing to connect/disconnect or use gates. Definitely get this as a top priority for your shop - your lungs, nose and eyes will forever appreciate it
Solid collector for the money December 31, 2002 Curtis Ebersold (newark, de USA) 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I have owned this collector for 2 years and have not had a problem with it. I have it connected to my table saw primarily and when occasion calls I disconnect the table saw and run a hose to the machine de jour. It has been a steady performer and is quiet. The bags that came with it let a lot of the small dust through so I replaced them with 5 micron bags from Penn State Industries. I noticed no reduction in flow but I have noticed cleaner air. A good buy for the money.
Pleasent Addition September 10, 2002 Charles E. Kersey (Burien, WA United States) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
Cruisin with power tools. One can never have enough. Forgot about how important it was to control the dust(MDF) stands for "man-made dust factory". Although I could have used a larger unit, I can only use one machine at a time. It has got to be better than a shop vac. It is definitely a whole lot queiter. Static pressure is lower but volume is tremendously greater. I might be able to find what is left of my basement yet! If you love wood, than get one of these before you change your mind because of the dust.
Great Upgrade for the Home Workshop June 25, 2001 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I've been using the DC650 for about 9 months now. Its a great unit with plenty of power for most any tool. I've used with my shaper and planer (two tools that require a good dust collector)with no problems. The unit assembled with no problem (less than 45 minutes). The unit is on wheels so you can move it to your tools or use it in a fixed location. One word on moving it around, two of the wheels are fixed and two rotate, the fixed wheels make the machine a little more difficult to move. My only other recommendation is to purchase a seperate trash can with a cyclonic (2nd stage) cover. You can buy these from Amazon for about 30 bucks. It will seperate out all of the heavy particles and save you a ton of time emptying dust bags. Overall, I would recommend this unit.
Workhorse for home shop October 17, 2001 C. Tang (Salt Lake City, UT United States) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
This was the second ever Jet tool I bought about two years ago. It had been serving my home shop very well. I have not had any problem with it whats-so-ever. It always starts when I need it. I had couple of times the dust was up to the neck and this thing was still going. It is pretty powerful for its size and that class of dust colloectors as I understand. I made my own 5 micron bag and plan on making a bigger lower bag or add a "window" to it. My shop is 10'X12' and this thing does not take much of room. So it's recommended if you have a small shop and don't run more than one tool at a time.
