4 out of 5 stars Garden weasel can weasel through the toughest stuff   September 16, 2002

I purchased a Garden Weasel last spring (2002)to put in my new garden. Though the blades looked intimidating, they were exactly what I needed to cruise through my clay soil.

I used the Weasel along with The Garden Claw to till, aerate, and pull things out of my soil that were undesirable. I got rid of weeds and rocks as it was easy to break the soil once I got the hang of using these tools. They are much easier to use than they look. As a woman of average strength, I had no problem boring into my yard and getting my dirt in shape for new seeds and seedlings.

The Garden Weasel was great for smoothing out soil, pulling out weeds and other debris from tilled soil and it helped to incorporate new topsoil with my old clay soil to make for a fresh, ready to grow yard.

My one and only complaint: the head kept coming off the pole. I solved this by using a super-strength glue to permanently attach it. You can still unscrew the individual tines of the unit to use alone.

If you need a great multi-purpose tool for your yard, this is a good one. It's a good price and will be useful for many years. The neighbors will also ask to borrow it after they see you using yours! (Mine did!)

3 out of 5 stars Good for preparing soil for planting, but not much else.   November 27, 2003

This tool works good at tilling soil before planting seed, but I have not found much use for it other than that. It definitely doesn't work on established weeds, I found that large weeds just got all tangled up in the spokes and jammed it.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Tool   May 19, 2000

I have had my "Weasel" for about ten years, since I spend many hours in my garden I must say that it is one of my favorite tools. Easy to handle, light weight, all and all "useable". I was so happy to see it offered one your site, since my dear husband ran mine over with the lawn mower. I didn't say it was industructable. Extra bonus it is at least ten dollars cheaper than my original model.

1 out of 5 stars This is a useless tool   August 29, 2004

What a waste of money. It won't cultivate, it won't weed, it won't even mix soft soils together. If you want to break your back scratching the surface of your yard or spend hours untangling the impenetrable foliage tapestry the blades will create, then this is the tool for you. If you actually want to accomplish something, you're better off buying a hoe, a rake, or a sharp, pointy stick.

5 out of 5 stars Should be called a Garden Wiz   April 13, 2005

I've had my weasel for a couple of years now and I love it. I have a vegetable garden about 12'X12' and this weasle is a wiz in it. Excellent to use weekly to rid my garden of beginner weeds, if you use it regularly you won't have a problem with weeds.

It also works good to airiate bad spots in your lawn and break up the compacted soil for new grass to grow.
