light weight and easy to use. sticks when trying to cut a large amount but works great for simple trimming.
Fiskars long-handled grass shears March 11, 2006 Mary L. Foster (Springfield, Missouri) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I have arthritis in my knees, and a big beautiful yard. This product has made it possible for me to keep my yard much neater and to enjoy the outdoors and my garden. The product is exactly as advertised, it seems to be sturdy and durable and quite well made, (like all Fiskars products I've used), and I'm delighted with it.
Happy camper June 21, 2004 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This tool is a little pricey but well made. It handles light grass trimming with ease. Great for trimming around trees and rocks. The swivel head is very convienient. All in all I would reccomend it for light to moderate trimming. If you can afford it,go for it.
Not for mass trimming August 1, 2001 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I purchased the long-handled grass shear as a replacement to an Black and Decker electric (rechargable) hand-held grass shear. I hated having to bend over with the old unit and when it finally gave out I decided to purchase something that would put a little less strain on my back. I can't use a string trimmer because I have delicate flowers and plants near the edge of the grass.I have found that the long-handled grass shear does prevent a great deal of strain on the back. It works very well in trimming around trees and hard edges. However, the blades are difficult to position when edging a border (nothing to place one of the blades against as a guide.) It takes approximately 3 times as long to trim these egdes and I still miss some spots.
Produces Wrist Ache August 1, 2005 Graham Smith (CT USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Whilst this unit edges the lawn OK it vary soon produces ache in the wrist tendons with the repeated squeezing of the lever at the top. I bought this to replace an old set of long handles shears we brought over from England 18 years ago. They were ideal, two long handles, one for each hand, that were moved together and apart for cutting. These could be used for long periods of time with no ill effects. I no longer use the Fiskars and am looking for shear with two long handles does not seem to be available in USA.
