It worked good until it didn't work at all. 8 outings at most and now the shears do not move at all but the motor runs great. A nice novelty gift.

this blows my black and decker away. lighter, more powerful and reasonably priced.. a real pleasure to work with. i'd highly reccomend it.

I got this for 2 reasons
1. I dont like the noisy / bulky edge trimmers
2. I have a relatively small lawn.
This works well for me. However, I would have liked it even better if this 4.8V model was like the 6.0V model which comes with a hedge trimmer blade.
The extension rod is useful, but I notice a decrease in 'power' when I use the extension.
Another problem is that like all battery powered devices, batteries die eventually.. which is not a real problem, if you can get the replacements easily. I have looked everywhere for a battery replacement for my 6V grass shear/hedge trimmer.
but lawn perfectionists beware- this trimmer works best if you want the edges taper off instead of a sharp vertical cut.
Also, if you plan to use this to mow your lawn - ha haa!

This cordless grass shear is wonderful! I live in a mobile home and have a hard time using a grass whip without puting holes in the skirting. The lot owners are very picky about the holes and make you replace sections if they get holes in them. I wish I had this a few years ago it would have saved me money to replace the skirting. You can get right up next to it and not worry about holes!! The battery lasts the whole time if it is charged completly. I try to keep the blades clean after each use. It says in the manual that you can replace the blades when they get old. It also says you can get an extension if you want to stand while you're trimming. Great item... worthy every penny!!
