5 out of 5 stars Silky Pole Saw-Its Worth The Cost!!   September 30, 2004

I live in Florida and have cabbage palms that have gotten taller than conventional saws can reach. I couldn't believe how light and easy the 21 foot telescoping Silky was to handle. I can now reach them all.

It even came in handy this week after Hurricaine Jeanne. We had an oak partially uprooted with the canapy hanging over my wife's beautiful and expensive plants. With the silky, I was able to reach the top and make small cuts to keep the branches from falling on the plants.

One caution, the blade is "sharp"!!! That is why it cuts so well and you must use caution because it can cut you. Use the supplied blade cover for storage and keep it away from kids.

The telescoping pole is so great and easy to use, I wish Silky would make a 1 7/8" pruning head and a thinner blade Kit just for palms. They could sell many of these to palm owners in Florida.

5 out of 5 stars Can't say enough about my Silky   November 2, 2005

This pole saw is truly a professional saw, pruning tree limbs is simply a delight. I'm impressed! The tool quality and performance are exceptional. It cut down all the limbs that I needed to reach and beyond with ease. Cutting several inch diameter limbs at four or twenty feet overhead is fast and easy. I was expecting a decent saw of high quality, but this one went beyond all my expectations both in construction and ease of use. The cut is very smooth on each stroke, not just on the pull stoke as my older saw. The Hayauchi pole saw may seem as an expensive saw for the average home owner's pruning needs, but it is well worth the money. It's not practical for use on the tree due to its length when fully extended, but as a ground pole saw, it is beyond compare. I would recommend a home owner to invest in a Silky saw that fits their pruning needs. Thanks for the Hayauchi pole saw, can't say enough about my Silky.

cajun-dancer is someone who likes to complain. That's apparent.
He strikes me as someone who likes to get something for free.

There's no value in free or cajun-dancer for that matter. He reminds me of my grandmother on my fathers side.

This saw is the best thing I have ever bought for trimming my trees!! Easy to use and light weight. I was sceptical at first because i am used to a powered pole saw but this thing cuts like butter.

5 out of 5 stars Very high quality, easy to use   December 7, 2007

I've messed around with pole saws for years while maintaining the trees around my home. All of them have been heavy, and hard to control when extended due to wobble. I hesitated on the price of this saw, but now I can see it is well worth it.

The design is such that the up and down wobble of the pole, even when extended to the full 21 feet is virtually nil. It's much lighter than the fibreglass versions too. Nevertheless, when fully extended, you have to keep your wits about you and it does get heavy when you're working at an angle. Power lines are a particular concern around here and this thing is so darn long that if you fell while using it, there's a chance it might fall and touch a wire.

The blade is unreal. I can cut a branch as thick as my bicep in about 20 seconds.

Pole saws have their limitations, but this one is by far the finest product I have ever used.
