This is a great little tiller. Very managable and a real work horse for such a small product.

My handyman really likes using the tiller. I watched him use it in heavy clay soil and it stirred it up beautifully. As soon as the soil dries out, I'm going to try it. Jeanie

4 out of 5 stars Love the litlle 'tiller!   April 29, 2008

Works really well, really quiet. Seemed to have plenty of power in pretty dense, compacted soil. Have a lot of golf ball sized landscape stones scattered through the garden from the previous homeowner which got caught in the tines repeatedly and tripped the breaker right away. I found this action more acceptable than the tiller laboring and stripping out its drive. Just knocked out the stone, reset the breaker, and got back at it. A great buy which will save my back constantly!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for me   May 20, 2008

I have a 22 x 17 foot garden that I've had for 10 years and have paid for others to come in and rototill every few years. I decided to try it myself this time and am glad I did. The Mantis is very easy to handle (I'm a 5'2" woman) and it did the job perfectly. I did it in a couple days because my arms did get a little tired after a few hours. It turned out rocks very easily. I did buy the weed reducers but they hadn't arrived the first time I used it and I had to stop a few times to unwind the weeds. I had them the second day and they did help a bunch. I love being able to quickly change the tines and cultivate around my plants now that they are set. No more back-breaking hoeing for me! Using the Mantis has given me a pretty garden that I can keep clear of weeds. Now if I can only figure out how to keep it free of deer I'll really be happy!

5 out of 5 stars Surprise   May 28, 2008

I thought this was an indulgent purchase, but have used it much more than I expected. This weekend I bought about 25 plants and got them all in without a sore back using the tiller to dig the planting holes.
My property is root filled and the tiller cut through all. There was some bucking often, but nearly all the roots were severed without additional work. The kickstand didn't come.
