Disappointing Quality August 11, 2008 R. Sharp 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Positive: Light weight, quiet, eco-friendly Negative: (1) Poorly built. Power selection dial broke after third use. I have a small, level yard and can cut it in 30-minutes. It is light duty, but the mower did not hold up. (2) Limited service centers. In the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex, there are only two repair facilities. Both of them admitted to having no experience with this mower were reluctant to attempt repair (for the record, one of the repair facilites did help me). (3) Limited power. Thick grass quickly drained the battery and I was forced to use an extension cord.
Piece of Junk! August 12, 2008 golf101 (CA, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Batteries are dead after about 4 times of use. Could not hold the charge. Switched to corded mode but still have to charge the almost dead batteries to make it go. After 3 months, this thing is totally dead in my shed. As I am writing this review, I am looking for a new lawn mower. Stay away from battery powered lawn mower, especially Remmington.
Good concept, bad quality August 23, 2008 Customer (California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First received mower would only work with power cord. Amazon sent a replacement very quickly. Second mower has been working fine for 3 months, but now the power dial refuses to stay on the CHARGE mode so I cannot charge the battery unless I hold the dial. Remington: one star. Amazon: 5 stars.
Piece of Junk August 30, 2008 T. Aberanthy 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Do not buy! This thing is a piece of junk. I originally bought the mower for light mowing around tight spots near the house. This mower is worthless. It will only hold a charge for about 10 minutes at the most. The lawnmower is louder than a gas mower if you mow with an extension cord on the 120 volt setting. I had several issues with it. One was the charger. I had to get a new switch from the manufacturer and eventually they replaced my battery. Battery still will not hold a charge about 5 - 10 minutes use at best. It is cheaply built. Front wheels tend to fall of easily. The bagger attachment is flimsy and cumbersome to work with. If you really want one bad enough, you can have mine and save yourself $400.
Good idea May 11, 2008 E. Kass (Levittown, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great concept. Plugged in, it is quite powerful. However running in cordless, its not so powerful and runs out of juice (depending on conditions) in about 30 minutes (I tried this on high grass, wet grass, and other conditions to see what it can handle). Still a nice eco-friendly solution. The mower pays for itself with savings on gas (or, of course, the landscaper alternative). Power consumption for charging is not as much as I originally thought.
