A Good Value May 29, 2001 Scott (Long Island, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have purchased expensive and economy brushes and there is little difference in their longevity. The bristles get caked-up and wear out in relatively the same amount of time. The differences become apparent in the length and construction of the handle. The Weber offers a nice 18" wooden handle. The length is just right for keeping your hands from getting scorched while retaining control. Constructed of solid wood it is stronger and does not melt as many of the cheaper plastic handles do. A curved handle would have been nice, making better use of the entire pad when cleaning. However, it would have likely increased the cost. A good value for the money.
Good, but... August 30, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The concept behind the Weber Grill Brush is excellent. The brass bristles are tough enough to remove cindered remains (Burn it on high to ash, first) without scratching the porcelain cooking grate. The execution, howvever, is less than perfect in that the bristols are not quite long enough to easily reach material stuck to the lower portion of the grate. My own example had a more significant flaw: The wood handle broke in two mid-way thru the first season of use. This was less surprising when I examined it closely and saw that the break was on a knot in the wood. To Weber's credit a call to their 800 number brought a quick replacement.
Cheaper at a local hardware store May 30, 2002 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This item while very well made can be bought for under 7 bucks brand new at many large and even small hardware store. Amazons price on this item is outrageously high, look elsewhere.
It does the job November 4, 2002 Jim J. Cocalis (Roselle, IL United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
It is a brush like most on the market. they clean the grates.Nothing bad about it, and nothing outstanding. When they wear out buy another.
Very effective and practical April 21, 2004 Kishantha Galappatti (New Jersey) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The 18" brush from weber is very well built and is quite effective at getting remnants of the ceramic grates on my weber genesis silver grill. The length is just right, and the weight of the brush helps to clean well. Skip the 12" and pay the extra few $$ for the 18", it really makes a difference.
