The best backyard grill money can buy! April 2, 2007 R. Ruiz Jr. (Austin, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pros: Ventalation is my favorite feature. It has a great "breathing" vent in the top and bottom so you can grill directly or indirectly (smoke) if you'd like. Also, for fare-ups just close the lid and each vent and you are all set! It's extremely durable, well, very Weber product is compared to other brands (trust me, I've been grilling for a very long time). Easy to assemble. Easy to clean. Cons: It comes with a latch inside the lid so that you can hang it over the edge of the grill. It works fine but I prefer it to be higher and you'd have to buy an optional lid placer holder for that, about $15 or so. It doesn't come with a cover (purchase separate) - this is a must have if you're serious about grilling!
Good as promised May 7, 2007 William Croom 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This grill performed as advertized in the reviews here. Assembly is easy and takes less than a half hour. The cooking time is longer than other charcoal grills, but is more uniform because of the ceramic cauldron reflective characteristics. I also bought the stainless steel tools and the tool holder. The latter ships separately from another company and the shipping/handling is about twice as much as the tool holder.

We always preferred a charcoal grill. They just don't get much better than this....
Woman's best friend... June 18, 2007 Rosemary Thornton (Norfolk, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Several months ago, I was told by my beloved hubby that he really, really, really wanted THIS Weber Grill for his upcoming birthday. Whilst shopping at the grill store, I found a plethora of much less expensive grills (and they all looked the same to me), but remembered his specific comments about wanting a Weber Grill. After he blew out the candles on his birthday cake, he opened a tiny cardboard box and found a single piece of charcoal inside, carved into the shape of a heart and he figured out what his new gift was. Like a kid with a new bike, he couldn't wait to assemble his new grill. It went together quickly and easily, with only a short delay occasioned by the installation of the ash collector. Shortly thereafter, he started cooking with charcoal and hasn't quit. Almost every night, he cooks chicken, hot dogs, steaks, hamburgers and more on his grill. The food is always evenly cooked and incredibly tasty. Every now and then, I offer to cook dinner in the oven, but he says NO! and states that he'd much rather cook out on the grill. Recently, I confessed to him that while shopping for this gift, I nearly purchased a much cheaper grill. In response to this confession, the hubby's eyes got big and in a very serious voice he said, "I would have been mighty sad if you'd bought anything other than a Weber." Weber, it would seem, has a well-deserved reputation and this backyard grill has many nice features that make grilling easy and fun. It appears to be wonderfully sturdy and well constructed. It's not too bad looking and it does a wonderful job on the meat. I'm not a big meat-eater but I almost can't resist the taste and smell of a cheeseburger cooked on the Weber Grill. Having used this grill for several months, I'd have to say that it really is worth the extra money to get a Weber. :)
If you scrape and twirl a little, set up is a breeze July 22, 2007 John Schultz (Illinois) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Setup was easy on this grill after I realized that I will have to scrape the tabs of the ash catcher ring down the small leg posts. At first I did not like the idea of scraping my nice new grill, which is why I temporarily stumbled on the instructions. They pop in nicely once you get past this. The 3rd leg kind of twirls on which is quite obvious once you start fiddling with it but the instructions have no words so the pictures are not as self-explaintory as I would have hoped in these 2 areas. My only complaints on this grill are the legs and the handle. The legs were wobbly and not as secure as I would have liked them and they were installed all the way to the base of the grill (as the picture showed) some nuts and bolts would have went far in this area. The handle gets to hot to handle with bare hands. especially when doing large meats like roasts or whole chickens. Wood would have fixed this problem. I wrapped mine with some small rope (not string) and it helped a little. All said and done it's a great grill. Get it. FYI-The Weber 87886 Chimney Starter is incredible and it's only 12 bucks. Get that too.
