Awesome December 3, 2007 R. James (Northern UT USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This BBQ is awesome. I've owned it for 3 months, and use it at least once a week. I've cooked for 26 people on it, and I've cooked for two of us. I'm a fair cook, but this grill makes me look like an expert. The "flavorizer bars" sound like the worst type of hyped crap, but they absolutely prevent me from burning my food. Seriously, I haven't burned anything on this grill yet! Granted, they may not add any flavor, but I still think they are great. As for heating ability, let me just say that it's 18 degrees outside (northern Utah) and I'm BBQ'ing. I couldn't do this on my old BBQ! I haven't noticed any darkening of the SS, but I won't be surprised if it happens. Had this been available in something other than stainless, I would have bought it. I've never owned a solid stainless grate before, and was a little wary, but it's worked out great. I would seriously recommend this for anyone who wants to spend this kind of money on a BBQ.
Nearly Perfect June 10, 2008 M. Coupland (Torrance, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Can't seem to cook things wrong on this grill. Just admire the grill before you cook on it, because it'll never look that way again after you use it. Only drawback I've seen is that the door magnets didn't seem to hold that well and I initially had trouble with the regulator leaking where it connects to the propane. Customer service was very friendly and sent a new regulator w/in a couple weeks. Haven't yet tried the effectiveness of the smoker box. Very satisfied overall.
A step Up June 13, 2008 Ryan K. Latreille (Chapel Hill, NC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this grill as a replacement for my Vermont Castings VCS5010 when it was damaged in a move. The VC signature series are no longer available and after cooking on this grill I am happy about that. My Grill arrived without incident and no damage at all. We put it together in about 15 minutes and Weber was smart on the packing, the grill comes on a plastic pallet, but the heaviest parts are in a nice hidden type place in the pallet so you do have to lift the entire 300 lbs to get the grill body out of the crate. I thought this was worth mentioning. Amazon had the best price but I noticed as I am writing this review the price has increased from last week when I bought it. I read many reviews and some people had mentioned heat problems, this grill heats to 500-600 in about 10 - 12 mins and cooks like a dream. Very even heat and no flare-ups. We did chicken on bone last night that was marinated all day and used the indirect cooking method, it was awesome very juice and tender, no burnt crisp like before. This grill is expensive but worth every penny in quality and cooking experiance. I thought I had the best grill with my Vermont Casting but I was very wrong, thank you Weber!
disgusting gease pan water leaks design flaw August 21, 2008 Book Lover (NY) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased the nearly same s-670 grill as a replacement for an older weber and returned it as defective. the replacement also was flawed and was taken back. There is a serious disgusting design flaw on this model. there is a large gap all along the attachment of the grill to the cart that leaves a one inch opening around it. In ANY rain storm water leaks in here, runs down the grease trap catcher and fills the grease pan that sits in the cabinet. In a short time your entire cabinet fills with a flood of rotting greasy overflow and water destroying anything inside. Weber claims to know nothing of this and asked for photos to analyze but if you search on line for this problem you will see many many people have had it and demanded refunds from weber. Their only answer is to leave the grill covered at all times when not in use-- this is just unacceptable for a $2000 grill. Beware!

This is by far the best grill we have ever had. My husband has not stopped grilling since he got it two weeks ago as a surprise birthday present.
